No.
The time to “unload the heavy artillery” has past and gone. If there was indeed ever any “artillery”, it should have been fired right off, and let the shells fall where they may.
When you’ve come to that point in the race where partisans start shouting “it’s time to hit harder!”, well - that’s the indication that the race is probably lost whatever you do.
In earlier postings I pointed out that once a candidate (on EITHER side) starts “breaking 50%”, it’s well-nigh impossible for the other candidate to overcome that.
As others here are pointing out, Rasmussen’s methodology “tilts towards the democrats”. But even taking that into consideration, when I see numbers like “52-44%”, I can’t help but see the gap as “too far to go”.
I’m still going to the polls, regardless. Even though McCain never had a chance here (Connecticut), I’ll go anyway.
But although I’m just a dumb working-class “prole”, I’m wise enough to know the score this time around.

That will be the year the grassroots of the GOP rise up and tell the establishment to 1), Change the primary process which allows the Rats and “Independents” in the eary states to influence who will be a favorite for our nominee, and 2) the old guard in the GOP that has been incompetent the better part of the decade and fighting back against the Rats and Drive Bys will thrown out on it’s ear if we lose in a few weeks.
Sarah will be in prime position to win the nomination. If we lose, you can bet the infrastructure will be in construction mode the day after the election for a Sarah for President campaign.
The Grassroots are pissed which should make the establishment work harder in the next few weeks to win this thing for job preservation.

Why would the two statements be contradictory? In the Rasmussen poll Obama has had string of 25 days of not declining and is today at its highest point.
He’s also oversampling dems by 2 points and undersampling Rs by 4 points... adjust for that and you have a 48 to 50 race folks.
2004 turnout was 37D 37R 26I, Rass is sampling 39D, 33R and 28I. Relax folks.

I am beginning to agree. All polling will bump up and down a point or two on a day to day basis. But twenty five days in a row of not loosing a single point? I smell rats.

Weekend results generally favor Democrats. I do believe Rasmussen is an excellent pollster. However, I too think there is something flawed with the input, perhaps the Bradley effect comming into play. But, if this poll is accurate, McCain/Palin would win maybe 2 states. I just don’t see it.

Perhaps Palin is the best candidate ... RIGHT NOW.

This country really deserves judgement for turning our backs on God, and for allowing the culture to degrade as it has to glorify ugliness and sin.
0bama would bring that deserved judgement.
A Palin election would be a show of Mercy.
By 2016, or 2012 Obama and ACORN will have so "fixed" the election process that national elections will be more for show than reality.

McCain might have saved this had he opposed the billionaire bailout. A Democratic version would have passed anyway and the markets would still be tumbling.
