A number of Weathermen blew themselves up on accident while constructing bombs. I believe an ex-girlfriend of Ayers did as well, if memory serves. "Nonfatal" to others just means they're incompetent, not that they're innocent.
On a side note, one of our targets out here years ago was known as 'Abu Three Fingers'. It's not uncommon at all for terrorists 'engineers' to have blown parts of themselves off at work. Occupational hazards, if you will. Those folks aren't just misguided kids because they suck at handling demo.

Years and years ago I read a book about Diana Oughton, Ayers’ girlfriend who died in the Greenwich Village blast. Based on the autopsy report, it is speculated that Diana may have been holding the bomb when it exploded. The plan was to set the bomb off at a military social event in New Jersey, potentially killing scores of service men and women. Ayers is a terrorist and should be in prison. It’s unreal to me that someone who could be President would have any association with this monster.
