SACRAMENTO -- California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, alarmed by the ongoing national financial crisis, warned Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson on Thursday that the state might need an emergency loan of as much as $7 billion from the federal government within weeks.
The warning comes as California is close to running out of cash to fund day-to-day government operations and is unable to access routine short-term loans that it typically relies on to remain solvent.

I live in California, and I hope the administration tells Arnold and the tax and spend rats in the California legislature to do an obscene act while flapping their wings and flying.
Actually, I think we should bail them out the way the FDIC bailed out WaMu:
Place the entire state in receivorship -sell off the coastal regions to the highest bidder, and allow the interior areas to rejoin the union as our 51st state.
We could break that hold CA has on the Electoral College.
If he would get rid of his "undocumented citizens" he wouldn't need $7 billion.
If California’s credit is so bad that they can only borrow from the US Government, they have serious problems.
The US Government needs to tell California its time to cut back. If a “republican” President won’t do that, who will?
There’s a lot of money to be made by drilling off the coast!
Drill, Arnie, Drill!!
Citizen to Arnold, kiss my arse and repeal your idiot law spending billions on embryonic stem cell research funded by Californians.
Arnold who does not back the Reublican agenda?
Arnold who has caved on so many liberal’s in California.
Go ask your demorat pals nothing here for you, for Arnie.
“Cali lost a 2007 legal battle over selling bonds to raise money for the public employees pension fund “CalPers”—— CalPers is holding a lot of hedge fund securities backed by “funny mortgages.” Mortgages handed out like candy to unqualified——probably illegal-— borrowers.”
Two years ago after the election, I basically got banned from a friend’s house by his wife, a newly retired teacher.
I apparently made her so upset discussing the bad investments by CalPers during the Gray Davis and Clintoon years and warning her of the possible blow up of Calpers.
She ended up seeing her FP doctor, who had her go to counseling.
Her husband just laughs about it. He said his wife lives in the typical liberal dream world, and anyone who dares to bring reality into their world becomes a scary person, they don’t want to see.
Gee all blue states. How did that happen?
Just go hat in hand to all the super-rich celebrities who care about the little people, Arnold. They are generous and you will have the money in no time.

I say if California defaults let some other country buy them, I don’t even care if Russia does, let’s just get rid of them ... No Bailout for California, just sell it off.
PS - Aronold can also hold a concert to Free Tibet and Invade Dafur solicit donations, then secretly add them to the state coffers. That should give him the $$ he needs. Oh, and he can print and sell carbon credits.
Mmmmmmmm..............I just hope they get that on videotape.
Watching Arnie and the gang performing anatomical gymnastics with themselves would brighten up the Nightly News considerably.
Heck, I'd even be willing to contribute a couple bucks so that Arnie and the Sacramento boys can enjoy a Slim Jim and a Slurpee in the statehouse urinal.
No. Go play in the street. I'm sick up to here with "bailing out" liberal bags of scum.
Two-faced ********.
They thumb their noses at conservatives but have no compunction about---and apparently enjoy---letting us bail them out.
(insert I Hate Liberals icon here)
This is why “out-of-state clowns” post comments on “California threads”.
Who didn’t see this coming?
