Michigan is Fool’s Gold for the GOP. Way too much union.
The money would be better spent in PA, which is very winnible.
McCain could win Michigan if he reversed his position on drilling and said how many jobs it could provide...union jobs and the like...oil, gas, rigs, piping, etc.

However, Bush didn’t win Penn. so McCain doesn’t need to either. What we do need to do is hold serve in the big 3 states Bush carried: Ohio, Florida and Virginia. Hopefully, we can pick up New Hampshire, a Kerry state.
Doing all that would get us past the early part of election night in decent shape, with Iowa being the only Bush state that Obama picked up. Then we head out west with Colorado and Nevada deciding the election. If we lose any of Ohio, Florida or Virginia, it will be hard to recover.

Agreed! Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida are the ones to spend big money on.
Agreed. Pa is the Kerry state McCain has the best shot at turning. Even if McCain had picked Romney for his running mate, he still might not have been able to turn MI. Detroit is just too Dem.
way too much union is a good thing. palin, being a hunter is a draw for many in the midwest who, altho they tend to support and display mostly republican values- especially pro gun- vote dem to keep their unions intact.
also there’s quite a number of union people who will vote against obama based on the colour of his skin.
mccain can stay out of michigan and wisconsin as long as he sends palin.
