A bad answer not because its so awkward but because she lacks the knack for spinning tough questions to her advantage in a way politicians ought to be able to. E.g., Any decision is a bad decision, Katie, where the Court arrogates to itself the right to decide difficult questions which, in a democracy, should be left to the public. An answer like that would have gone a long way towards countering Bidens dopey point about the virtue of Roe v. Wade lying in its expression of consensus. Hey, Joe? Consensus is best determined at the ballot box. If Biden disagrees with that, I encourage him to let the Supreme Court decide who should be the next president. It sounds from WaPo at this point like Palins going to try to bait Biden into a fatal gaffe tomorrow night to cover any missteps she might commit. Not a bad idea in light of the new CBS poll: Womens perception of Palin has become increasingly negative. On Sept. 8th, Palin had a 47 percent favorable rating among women and a 19 percent unfavorable; now her favorable rating among the group is down to 30 percent, while her unfavorable has risen to 34 percent. Exit question: Shes on record as opposing the Supreme Courts ruling on punitive damages in the Exxon Valdez case. Why didnt she just mention that? Update: Karl e-mails, Bidens a senior member of the Judiciary Committee. Try asking him about the Alaskan pipeline and see how he does.
I have no idea why she’s still talking to Katie Couric? Didn’t she new interviews with her this week to be aired before the Biden debate?
I have heard this plan, and believe me it is not a plan. If the Dems get in charge, the "community orgns. like ACORN will have such a grip on voting, it will be subverted for all time. They will have 4 more years of pandering to the minorities about how mistreated they have been and how much they are owed. Have you forgotten reparations? Have you forgotten Obama's plan to make us an ATM machine for the UN and 3d world countries? We will be feeding and educating muslim countries that take our riches and pay us back with hate and destruction. Any moves to depress Obama's programs will be met with intimidation by law enforcement that has turned its head from crime in the streets. Haven't you noticed that his orgn has tried to depress negative press in MO, with the help of a sheriff, a lawyer and an official. You see, THEY will decide what is punishable and will define it.
I think Palin is still popular, and anyone can see what fakers the media are. I, too, am voting McCain/Palin absentee ad as soon as ballots are printed here.

There have been reports that the McCain camp alone pushed the format change so there wouldn’t be so much open ended talk time at the debate. I don’t buy it... I think the decision was mutual on the part of both campaigns. The Obama people don’t want Biden to have a lot of time to just spout of and make one his trademark gaffes.
She was on today with Hannity and it was horrible. Not Palin but Hannity. He seemed angry and despondent and uninterested in her answers.
You may be right. I heard the request for change too. It sounded like it was accepted.
This is the same interview. CBS is releasing it in drips to maximize the impact. Supposedly they have another clip or two to drip out.
Eh, no big deal. Five weeks is a long time. I suspect she is really going to turn the big guns on the empty suit now.

Now she (they) can let loose as they have nothing to lose.
McCain probably threw this election when he allowed himself to be talked into Sarah Palin as a running mate.
She is not ready for the Vice Presidency, much less the Presidency. Anybody who argues otherwise is either naive or is being disingenuous.
I am furious at McCain. This is beyond depressing.
And then I would also like to point out that Biden is a lawyer, and he sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Gov. Palin is not a lawyer and has been busy running the largest state in the union and finally getting off the ground a natural gas pipeline project that was languishing in electoral gridlock for 30 years. That pipeline will be the largest construction project in North American history.
Finally, I would note that Palin's answer is correct in that she has never served as a "law maker". She has served as a executive. She is running for an executive position (VPOTUS).
Katie (the little whelp) asked Palin and Biden a question that Biden was destined to shine in. Like I said, the guy sits on the Judiciary Committee. He knows everything about SCOTUS. Palin isn't a lawyer.
Sure, she gave a less than stellar answer. But I will NOT dismiss her because of that.
Fred Thompson said it all in his article yesterday (http://townhall.com/Common/PrintPage.aspx?g=41781e42-10cb-4524-bd0b-95f4fb6fd151&t=c). "Courage and political will are at the very top of the 'qualification' requirements for today's leaders," and Sarah Palin has that in spades!
How So?
Who do you dislike more ? Sarah or Sean?
I respectfully disagree. See my post in #30.
>> If she canât pull it off tomorrow, if she canât come up with answers that are coherent and on point then it is over for her.
it aint over til the fat lady sings.
Pro-life

The one that comes to my mind (and I had to think for a minute) was the decision to not allow persons to be executed that were minors at the time they committed their crimes. I don’t know the name of the case. I think Anthony Kennedy was the guy that went to the dark side on that case.
How So?
Who do you dislike more ? Sarah or Sean?
I dislike neither I just didn’t like the interview as it seemed forced and uninspiring.
I too am starting to wonder if Romney wouldn’t have been a much better pick. The latest polls in the midwestern states have been sliding away, yet Romney is extremely popular in Michigan. Romney also knows the economy inside and out.
Romney would have no problem handling Couric, Gibson or whomever.
It’s water under the bridge at this point. I hope she can pull it off tomorrow night.
She gave millions of people, including me, someone to vote for instead of simply voting against Obama and Biden.
Because of that, she is the only hope that conservatives and the Republican Party have.
It's time for everyone to show who they are: as for me, I will stand with Sarah Palin every step of the way.
I can’t believe she didn’t mention the Exxon v. Baker case. She has been strongly against that decision, even appearing on TV just three months ago decrying over the Supreme Court’s decision to decrease the punitive damages. If all I had was this interview to judge, I would say she’s incompetent.
Losing is a really bad approach.
