Good critters those spiders. I get lovely Orb-Weavers in the fall, they are really cool to watch. :-). Agreed.
I just do a run around the yard for Widows (Yikes) at night and hunt and directly spray them if I find one. I found a nest a few weeks ago with hundreds of babies...I felt like Sigorney Weaver in the movie Aliens wiping them out (lol),don't want the kids near those.
You are a very courageous person 444Flyer. My. My. I would be hiding behind you about five feet away--lol. I am impressed!

LOL! I started killing Black Widows myself years ago, after my exterminator told me it is very difficult to get them all. He said they can fly in on a web strand and land in the middle of the yard that hadn't been sprayed and find a comfy home near there. I would have the yard sprayed, $$$, and still find one or two hiding in various places. I finally got rid of the exterminator because the only spiders I didn't want were the Wids. So, I do it myself, but yes it was scary at first. They are very smart and sense the slightest movement. The main thing to look for is a very “sticky” web.
