Dick Morris on Fox: McCain is bungling the bail-out issue so badly that he has basically lost the election by "a lot; will be 12 points behind Obama next week." McCain "is giving this issue away to Obama" by being ineffective and not pinning it rightfully on Pelosi, ACORN, and the Dems.
Pro-Obama ads are running 3-1 vs. McCain ads. Obama videos/Yoytube are running ten to one against McCain. I can't understand how a brave warrior like McCain can be so blind and go down with no fight. HOW can McCain let the ACORN issue just slide away?
that’s bullshit and you know it.
One might suppose that McCain is keeping his powder dry until he can actually affect the results....
Still, Obama's camp is being far more aggressive. 'course, they've got the MSM waiting to do their bidding on everything, so it's a lot easier for them.
They need to be on message 24/7 for the next 5 weeks linking the following meme:
Meltdown = CRA + ACORN = Hussein
go suck some more toes!
Have you even run a campaign other than from your mother’s basement?
McCain sounded conservative at Saddleback. Then he picked Palin. Everybody, including me, got delusions of grandeur that McCain realized he needed to move to the right. I saw him on Face the Nation right after the convention when he was ahead. He was right back to that left wing populism garbage, and I knew his polls would start sinking.
Dude, preaching to the choir is not going to win this election, not from McCain, he must expand his ad campaign as this is what happened to Bob Dole.
Don’t be dense.
Fine, even assuming your premises, you don’t allow a hole to be dug so deep that you can’t regain public perception on this issue.
If McCain wants the RATS to capitulate and pass the GOP version, he needs to turn up the heat on them!
This passivity is a losing strategy.
He did say Hillary Clinton was going to be our next president.
McCain blew it Friday night on the 2nd question of the debate.
“Do you support the bailout bill.”
It was a hanging curveball. Instead of saying clearly “here’s what I support” and going with the already on the table market based republican alternative, he hem-hawed around.
It was a hanging curveball; he should have sat on it and then smoked it into the bleachers. Instead, he swung feebly and missed.
I hate to say it but McCain could have won the election on this issue. He choked.
If McCain had positioned himself as âI was able to defeat $700 billion of new spending proposed by Bush and Pelosiâ, he would be in great shape, especially if he was able to say âI have worked with the Republicans to stabilize our economy without needing massive new debtâ, he would be even better.
Instead he has positioned himself as âI was convinced
40 people to support an unpopular and expensive bill, but that wasnât enough to pass itâ.
Then go vote for Obama.
I don’t think he ‘wants’ to lose, but he’s not being well served by his advisors.
yep he did.
He made a great move picking Palin. It just doesn't make sense that he's going to throw it all away by refusing to take on ACORN, Pelosi and Reid.
Just like four years ago. People will be up and down, because they want a guarantee of victory, many independent of any effort that they put forward, and they look at articles and utterances from anywhere to pull them in some direction.
The economy is working against McCain. Palin must turn in a great debate performance and be seen more on the stump by herself.
McCain was at his best when he became more aggressive a couple of weeks back. I will not throw in the towel, because I cannot fathom the prospect of Barack “Jimmy Carter” Hussein Obama in the White House.
I wonder if Michelle Obama has a problem with it being called the “White” House. Anyone notice how she has been locked in a back room, like a crazy aunt?
It doesn’t seem very smart to purposely go into October six points behind. I’d be very happy to be wrong, but the truth is , McCain is a liberal Republican. That’s his problem.
Oooh, that’s gonna leave a mark!
Sad but true.
