For anybody who’s interested John and Ken at kfi640.com are interviewing Rep Darryl Issa. I haven’t gotten to hear the whole thing. Hope they replay it sometime today.

Anyway Issa says he was one who helped lead the revolt against the bill. They had the head of the FDIC come in and explain how this could be taken care of without this bailout. Apparently the powers that be don’t want to hear that. (mho).

Issa said that by the time the bill got to them it was loaded with not just bad mortgage paper, but bad car loans, bad credit card loans....every bad loan they could come up with.

Woolsey (D) from CA, voted NO. She voted no because she thinks the bailout should include, unemployment and food stamps for foreclosure relief. She's such a duufus.

Tancredo’s vote is very interesting, and Udall, running for CO senate seat, voted Nay. Of course Tancredo is retiring so what does he care.

94 dims voted No. There are 233 Dims, which means that 40.3% of Dims rejected the bill. Meanwhile, 65 Republicans (o.o. 202) voted yes, which gives us 32.2% accept the bill.

The Dim is supposedly the party that brought the bill to the table, not the Republicans. If only Pelosi has leadership and had intention to pass it, even with 25% rates of rejection on her side, the bailout bill would have passed.

And all it cost was the election.

But you know what, I am ok with that in a way.

Perhaps he has a more pressing problem?

Weller reportedly will leave House
He faces questions on foreign land deals

"Weller, a seven-term incumbent who boasts the most extensive foreign land holdings of any House member, has faced questions about his re-election intentions all month, following a Tribune investigation that revealed he failed to disclose several land transactions in Nicaragua on his congressional ethics forms."

"On other sales, he reported vastly different purchase prices for the land in American and Nicaraguan records. "

I have read that Congress will not reconvene until Thursday. Why is that?

Jewish holiday - not sure why the entire Congress is shutting down. This Congress consists of 28 Democrats and one Republican who are Jewish. Twenty of them voted for the bill and nine of them voted against.

I have asked that question countless times and someone wrote said it was wrong; but didn’t explain why.
