I don't mind you guys doing Obama’s bidding, but you're embarrassing yourselves and your leader. Try to blend a little realism into your bleak diatribes, you might fool someone.

Point is, it is no use trying to find "silver linings" instead of trying to "change the game." Or... "hope is not a strategy."

Barack Obama and the Strategy of Manufactured Crisis

Whether by Fabianist incrementalism, or by catastrophe and revolution, the Socialists win by their strategy -- unless we expose them.

Well ... duh. When you loan someone a million, you own them. When you loan them a few trillion, they own you.

Bow down before your foreign masters, oh scum of the earth!

I am afraid you are right .... and like Hooever, President Bush will take the blame - ensuring years of socialistic/communistic/statist rule.

For the first time in my life, I am scared about this nation’s future = it’s immediate future.

This is much much worse than 911 2001....intense intercession is called for because God in His mercy is our only hope now.

People used to have a similiar analogy with Bush and poker.

Then there was the ever popular “rope-a-dope” that everyone parroted whenever something didn’t go right or he did something we disagreed, but hey, it was just part of some brilliant strategy and we only had to wait until the Dems walked into the trap and all would be revealed and we’d praise Rove.

Sorry, I don’t buy it. McCain handled this economic situation from the start abysmally and the result is that they’ve sucked all the energy Palin brought away. House Republicans agreeing to support this just cemented that loss.

Now, anything can happen in a few weeks to regain momentum. Maybe Sarah in the debates can return it as she did at the convention. She wasn’t part of any of this and her separation from D.C. has always been par of her attraction.

But right now it’s gone and McCain has no power to bring it back himself. And the Republicans in the House just signaled to me it’s business as usual. Initially stand for what’s right, then fold.

As for well-kept secrets, remember the Palin VP pick.

Speaking for myself, I'm no support of BO, but I'm trying to deal honestly with reality. I hope that I'm wrong. It's a fact that the polls have trended significantly for BO over the last week, and that this weekend has heaped more and more upon the disaster. Mac had a solid debate, he won handily IMO, but the polls say he lost. That's more about other events than about the debate specifically. Besides the debate, which Mac won but gained no advantage, and perhaps lost ground, can you identify anything that from recent events that might turn things in Macs favor?

I never said it was terrorism. I said it would make our nation weak on many levels if we hit a depression, including in a Nat’l Security sense.

BTW I’m betting that shorting and insider trading, as well as the Congress itself, will be shown to have caused this fiasco. We’ll see after the AG comments on it. Whatever caused it, it wasn’t Republicans. Their hands were tied. At least they made the bill semi-palatable.

A number of people on more than one site stated money is still in this proposal for ACORN. One person says, “not so!”

I’m not holding my breath. When this piece of crap bailout is finalized money for ACORN & La Raza will be there. The Dems can’t afford not to pay hush money.

The problem isn’t the repubs in the House, but the one leading the ticket. He was on national TV today, blaming this problem on greedy rich people. Would it really have hurt to point out the folks who made out like bandits are democrats, and they were helped immensely by Dodd & Frank?

But no, Mr Bipartisan was sounding like a Democrat, blaming anyone except the damn corrupt democrats and their corruption. hence my tagline...

How can we expect the average American to connect the dots, when the top of our ticket refuses to do so?

I like Palin - she has good instincts - but she isn’t the top of the ticket, and she is too willing to play the populist herself. Where is the ringing defense of capitalism and freedom that Ronald Reagan epitomized?

From what I read of the compromise, the R’s got some of what they wanted- namely, ACORN out of it, plus some of the credit(?) insurance paid for by the companies rather than total taxpayer bailout, and some other stuff. Yes it still stinks but I think they did what they could. If they didn’t compromise and there was no bill, then the Monday markets likely would not react favorably. The other result, a total Dem bill, would be a much much bigger pile of stink.
