The cable news networks are standing by for a press conference by House Republicans on the bailout bill. It should start some time after 6:30 p.m. EDT.
Bingo!
Reporter says all is calm in house meeting, says Repubs are getting answers to questions, will go home tonight and sleep on it before voting Monday.
I said that earlier today.
Democrats are playing ‘chicken’ with the bill. They know it work to ‘save the country,’ but if republicans remain stubborn ...they will be blamed for the fallout.
People all over the political spectrum are angry with this bill and the way it's being rushed and the scare tactics being used. Not just Conservatives. Let the Dems pass THEIR own bill if it's that important, they CAN. They won't because they want to hang it on Bush.
Their bill, let them pass it! I would say the opposite happens, we throw the rats out.
Well, I’m no legal eagle or green eyeshade guy, but it seems to me that there are some tractor trailer-sized loopholes in this bill that would allow for the diversion of money. Ye gad.
Our economy is not going to collapse if this bill doesn't pass, that is MO. Now, whether or not that is true has nothing to do with the Republicans. The passage of this bill does not hinge on them but on the Dems.
If you are so concerned that the world will come to an end if this bill doesn't pass in the next 60 seconds, then I suggest you go over to DU and urge them tp call their Representatives and make sure all the Dems vote for the bill, because that is where the power lies, not with us.
I would almost bet that is where you hang out in your spare time anyway, no one but a liberal could be quite so gutless as you seem to be.
It's too little to achieve it's goals and too much for the taxpayers to carry.
It's going to get strange. Our best hope is that much of this is a dem stunt... October surprise - and that HUD had been letting squatters sit in their homes until close to the election.
I wish...
Pressured by whom? Bush? McCain?

That’s what Thaddeus said on the radio.
It’s never a good sign.
The DEMs aren't the only one shilling fast and hard. The White House is too, as are a few of the leading Republicans from the Senate (Senator Gregg, for one).
I think it’s a good sign that our guys are debating this for so long and not just rubber stamping it. I hope they are serving Roasted Rino to them.
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!
“but you don’t know what it is, do you , Mr Jones”
fwiw, the dollar spiked in asia when currency markets opened.
OK, you've officially jumped the shark.

seems like no matter which way they go, they are facing a landslide defeat... and no matter what, the Harry Reids and Nancy Pelosis are always safe... unscathed...
Pelosi calling it the Bush-Paulson package, will blame Republicans for not going along and blame Bush if it fails.

Barack Obama Says Economic Crisis Affects Young People

‘If the economy slows down, they’re the ones who are going to have the toughest time finding a job,’
“We should not have had a system where people were allowed to go crazy, borrowing other people’s money, investing it in all kinds of speculation, with questionable assets, knowing that as long as the party is going good, that they would gain all the upside, but when things crashed, suddenly somebody else is going to pick up the tab. Somebody should’ve been minding the store, putting regulations in place.”
Oh, they were very direct with “It’s Bush’ fault” multiple times! but then what would 4 rattlesnakes say...
LOL...LOL...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
