I’m quite convinced he saw a serious depression coming if a deal wasn’t passed. We can mock him for getting down on his knees before Pelosi, but he meant it.

Unbelievable how awful they looked, especially Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank. I think they looked more rattled than tired. It was so pitiful that it doesn’t give one much confidence in their announcement.
Blunt looked the best but still insisted he needed to see the agreement on paper in the morning. But he seemed pleased.
The only plus is they didn’t savage each other or McCain. No “thanks” to Obama either. So, all in all, we’ll just have to see if it really is a deal.
Thing that really PO’d me was Reid and Pelosi whining about how hard this has been, big babies they obviously could barely handle being up after midnight.
