Shocking..........
We have no choice but to support McCain now, the alternative is unthinkable. This bill can be dealt with later (before it's done any damage at all) IF we can get the Republicans back into power. The key focus for me is to get McCain elected, and if letting this bill go through helps meet that objective, then I'll try to see the bigger picture and keep my chin up.
Thanks, it’s actually a true story, ignoring the “lipstick” and such; somehow, it seemed to fit tonight, 61 years and
ten presidents later, 3 generations dumber and fatter with no relief in sight.
I always wanted to write, I had nothing to say - I never knew I had so much company.
So far the only credit that's frozen is the "munis" which is lending to municipalities for big projects.
The thinking is that it would, in time, start cascading down, the food chain of credit, eventually hitting money needed by end consumers for thinhs like homes, cars, perhaps even groceries.
I personally don't think it will come to that though, even without this bailout.
It’s not me who’s fatter it’s us; I’m not dumber, either - just another generality, and that “lipstick” business? That’s a lead-in to the pig story; a tale of which I never tire of telling, no matter how sorry I and the pig and my poor, beleaguered dad appear to be.
Suffice it to say that I may be the only person to ever admit licking a light bulb.
I wish mine was.
LOL!!! Way better visual than the bus!
Oh, to be a fly in the cloak room.
My advice. Dump stocks, buy ammo and canned goods. Dried beans are cheap and last a long time too. If It all works out, you’re set for the next natural disaster\terrorist attack.
Have you seen the news like commercial offering to refi your loans for 97 and 3/4 of the value of your home?
Talks about Chris Dodd and how he wrote the saving bill?
And says that you can get cash out, buy a car, remodel. Didn’t we learn our lesson? COME ON?
How do you suggest we get the cash out of our 401’s? Imagine the tax hit we would take. There would be bills passed in days to tax that at 110%!
Moved my money in the 401k to T-Securities...”Flight to Saftey”. I didn’t have to pay.... you might if you move around your money alot, but otherwise you shouldn’t get hit. Ask them.
Moved mine there a long time ago.
Gregg told Politico Friday that the Thursday compromise wouldnt have come together so quickly if Democrats hadn't known that McCain was on his way. We wouldnt have had as much movement] as we did have, if he hadnt come to town and some of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle wanted to upstage him, Gregg said.
LOL. Dude, I’m in Iraq. I got other things to worry about as well.
I meant — a lot of details in the article link you posted!
Did not know that. Thank you for your service.
Still, the McCain timeline has been somewhat prominent; McCain told the Senate working group that he wouldn’t vote for a bill just to vote for a bill and the room erupted (I’m sure the concept of doing the correct thing instead of something was new to them.) Further, he told Boehner, Pence, Blunt, etc that he did what he could to create a political opportunity for them, and that they had to take it. (And it’s true, before McCain’s return to Washington no one gave a flip about the House GOP.)
McCain’s a RINO, but in this instance he did very well. Probably because he realizes if he wins the election he needs Republicans in Congress to vote for his stuff.
