McCain would be down 15 without Palin.

They can all smoke a idling tailpipe.

George Will, Charles Krauthammer, David Frum and Ross Douthat

And when did these people become conservatives?

Oh WOW, Palin is not too good with critical, biased, condescending, liberal, agenda driven journalists. So major media, please tell me again why this is a bad thing?

Jindal are conservatives whose public images lack “culture-war” overtones.

Is that right? Jindal is a pro-life Catholic. That would not have been brought up had McCain chosen him?

All of these so-called “conservatives” are Bushbots...solidly in the tank for the 5th worst president in American history. Apparently, they cannot stand the fact that McCain/Palin will upstage Bush/Cheney—the pair who could not lead and certainly could not read the tea leaves when it came to fighting wars or fixing Wall Street.

Has anyone read any of Katherine Parker’s articles? I have. They drip with ‘elitism’ of the Maureen Dowd type. I tell you, don’t be bothered by the Krauthammers, Wills, Parkers, they are totally out of touch with middle America, and whether an elitist of the left or elitist of the right, you are still an ‘elitist’.

When your so-called “own side” tosses you under the bus, you’ve got to think long and hard about who is on your side.

We had our Comal County Fair Parade today. The town shuts down for this parade, which is literally bigger and longer than the 4th of July around here.

We Comal County Republicans and the various Republican Women clubs marched and had a float. We were cheered right and left, all along the route. We got the best cheers - very few jeers - for the little masks of Sarah http://www.buycostumes.com/Sarah-Palin-Paper-Mask/38738/ProductDetail.aspx

I’ve heard over and over how the nomination of Governor Palin has energized the Party. Women tell me that she’s like them, has given them a voice. Those of us who “work” or have our own business and those of us who chose to make our profession our homes and families, all see her fight, as our fight.

The only people who hate Governor Palin wish to mock her religion, her family values, her State, and hate her the most for her choice to have Trig. And they keep forgetting that she is the *Vice-President* candidate!

Sarah Palin is an answer to prayer: a pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, and small government leader. Let’s pray that the Lord lead her as she learns to serve our Nation in this larger role.

This is just payback for Palin having dissed them right out of the box....these guys and their inside the Beltway mindset are as much of a problem to the Amercan people as their socialist cousins across town. Within the Beltway ...their aren’t really two SIDES to the discussion...only variations in the extremeness of the socialism they worship.

People better wake up to the fact that those mentioned in this article are enemies of Conservatism. They see Palin destroying the good old boy... business as usual Republican elite club. Only a few elected officials along with Rush and a hand full of Talk Radio Conservatives can be trusted.

I never thought I'd say this but McCain just may be the man that turns the tide... if not... our way of life is over with. We will be more like cuba than America. I do no want to live like that... I fear bad times and revolution are near. I pray that I am wrong but I see nothing to convince me that I am wrong.

Proof positive that the “Republican” elites still refuse to see this (and every) election as a culture war. Governor Palin doesn’t deserve this. If McCain/Palin lose Sarah can go back to Alaska and watch the lower 48 meltdown. If that happens I can’t think of a better place to be. :)

“conservative commentator Kathleen Parker”

That phrase is an oxymoron.

Just as it is obvious that Bill Clinton supports the McCain/Obama ticket, it is also obvious that Parker supports Obama/Biden. She’s no conservative, period.

I'm fairly certain that trying to make Governor Palin the "fall girl" will fall flat, given the fact that most conservatives had pretty much written off the election and were only going to vote for McCain because he wasn't Obama. It was Sara Palin's presence at the convention that motivated voters, and actually gave some life to the campaign.

If they try to blame her should McCain lose, it will REALLY damage the party for years, possibly decades to come. I'm fairly certain that Governor Palin could abandon the republican party and take a huge number of voters with her. Her qualifications have been compared to Teddy Roosevelt's. It might be a good idea for her detractors to take a look at what his Bull Moose party did back then... Though he lost, he did cause Wilson to win...

Kathleen Parker isn’t a conservative. She’s a moderate who admitted she voted for Bill Clinton.

In other words: these guys want a “good ol’ boy”, whom they they may influence with their self-important commentary. These icons of the conservative “elite” are just as afraid of anyone who does not kowtow... to THEM. Not just to the politico elite... but to media elite such as themselves. These windbags think THEY must be listened to, followed blindly and worshiped as gods. Well, George, et al... the party is over. Get used it.

My first choice was Romney (Governor Palin was my second), because I thought he had more economic expertise and executive experience than all the presidential hopefuls in both parties. His experience in the private sector and knowlege of the economy, would come in handy about now.

Having said that...I love Sarah Palin!

How dare we have a candidate that pleases the non-elites, right? Too bad.
