This year, 2008, many Frank Luntz’s group are major Obama plants. There is NO WAY some of those partisan hacks are independent. Obama’s team follows this thread. Many pointed out Obama’s stuttering. Obama’s camp doesn't want the O's stuttering to become common knowledge to those that don't pay much attention until late Oct.

Obama’s camp is ruthless with propaganda. They saw the stuttering just like everyone here. Luntz’s group IS NOT INDEPENDENT and Luntz gave the majority of mic time to Obama supporters where they defended Obama's stuttering, and even had the gall to say McCain stuttered. Quite the opoosite...McCain is confident and knowledgeable which results in clear, concise statement. Obama, he stutters and says lots of "uh's" when nervous.

Luntz appeared much more objective in 2004. Like Obama’s own perspiration throughout tonight's debate, they are cognizant of Obama’s stuttering and perspiration.

Luntz is a (nominally) Republican pollster. That said, I don't know how carefully he picks his focus groups. Many times when I could stomach him during the NH and IA voting, his groups were all touchy feely, and I don't know how scientifically that reflects likely voters. Sounds like this group tonight was from the same bunch. He's been criticized in a number of Republican circles over the years for consistently driving the party in the direction of identity politics, and he takes a lot of store in how well people “connect” with audiences. Whatever.
