Honestly, I always watch the debates on either C-SPAN or C-SPAN 2. No mouthpieces equals no problems.

All this talk of Gore makes me wonder if there are youtubes of the Bush/Gore debates. I still laugh remembering his sighing and when he practically came right up to Dubya. Memories!

I had an argument with some 0bamatron on a left-wing blog about Kissinger and the four dwarfs just the other day, and I fully expected this to come up. At two round tables one in March, 2008 the other last week, five previous Secretaries of State have been saying "we ought to talk to Iran."

The Lefty was trying to make this out to be some huge thing, to which I replied: 1) We are talking to Iran ALL the time, not just via proxy, but also through interest sections and other means, and 2) Kissinger's position on this HAS NOT CHANGED. The thing these idiots do not understand -- and that this unspeakably unqualified tyro named Barack Obama does not understand -- is that to my knowledge, not only does Kissinger not support direct talks at the Presidential level without preconditions, but no other living Secretary of State does either.

On this point alone he betrays how vanishingly small his diplomatic experience is.

It's worse than that. It appears (whether it did or not), it appeared that O's campaign had a little help from the moderator...as the moderator wanted JM to look at OB, as JL asked them to face each other.

You know that OB practiced some sort of eye intimidation with his McCain stand-in, during his practice sessions. And when McCain ignored him, O didn't know how to deal.

JL tried to coax McCain into following Axelrod’s script, but JM didn't bite.

I’ve watched her for awhile as far as her transformation and she is a smart gal. The Dems lost that one. They got Paula in return, and threw her under the bus.

Obambi didn’t need to bother visiting Afghanistan when he was in such a hurry to go shopping in Berlin!

If he couldn’t spare an hour or two for our wounded warriors at Ramstein then he certainly couldn’t be inconvenienced to fly all the way to Afghanistan..... even if he does “Chair” the ever so important sub-committee on NATO and European affairs that oversees issues re Afghanistan but never can seem to meet....

[it’s alright, though, because Joe Biden chairs the overall committee and HE tells Obama it’s OK that the sub-committee never meets..... hey, if your VP running mate gives permission then you can slack off completely on your public duties!!]

There are no independent candidates. If you register independent you may only vote on ballot questions. Nonpartisan office-holders must cross-file.

That is quite different from here. You register to vote and vote in one primary only. There is no affiliation.

Yeah, tonight as always Obama babbles all over the distinctions between direct “Summit” diplomacy between heads of state, lesser but senior level negotiations such as between a Secretary or Deputy Secretary of State and their counterpart Foreign Minister or Depty. Foreign Minister, and then all the myriad other forms of diplomatic contact such as at more junior levels, through 3rd party intermediaries, utilizing willing allies, int’l organizations (which do occasionally have a role to play), etc. etc.

Obama is clueless. He still talks as though no Head-of-State negotiations means nothing at all can be addressed between two nations. He has a naive media-centered view of the world in which the only diplomacy is that conducted by heads of state.

His original idiotic comment (so applauded by the rabid Moonbats) in July 2007 expressed an unqualified pledge to meet as POTUS with the “leaders” of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, etc. in his first year in office.

He thinks that if the POTUS is not holding glorified summit meetings then nothing is happening at all. He would instant hand diplomatic victories and unearned int’l prestige to the dictators of the world’s worst regimes, without even knowing whether he would get anything in return except more abuse for the USA.

Lately I’m noticing fewer and fewer people willing to put bumperstickers on their car, of any stripe. I’ve heard of people who DO have bumper stickers getting their cars keyed (both sides). I have a McCain/Palin sticker in my rear window. No damage yet to my car.

Couldashouldawoulda:

"Mr. 0bama has identified Afghanistan as the central front in the war on terror. That's interesting, because even though Mr. 0bama claims Al Qaeda was not in Iraq, when we were having problems there, Osama bin Laden claimed that Iraq was the central front in the war, and urged his followers to go there to fight. After the Surge succeeded and Al Qaeda got their clocks cleaned, Afghanistan became the central front in the war. Why? Because al Qaeda decided to retreat there. During this entire time, Mr. 0bama neither visited Iraq, nor Afghanistan, and in fact could not even trouble himself to call for a subcommittee meeting from the safety and comfort of his Washington DC Office. During a time when American soldiers and marines were fighting and dying in both of these countries, Mr 0bama did not even bother to vote present."

Tie-in to current economic problems:

"Mr 0bama's attitiude in this as in all the crises that have surfaced during his tenure in the Senate has been to have his more capable Senate colleagues handle things, while always being sure to let them know they could 'call him' if they needed a hand."

If you have read Michael Ledeen's The Iranian Time Bomb you will know this, but apparently BHO does not: on every occasion when we have attempted to escalate the seniority of contacts with Iran, they've used the occasion to very ceremoniously slam the door in our faces for domestic propaganda value. They get a huge kick out of it.

One can only imagine the insane cackles of laughter with which Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran, will greet the news that he would be willing to meet with a mere President of the United States when he awakens in the morning.

Grotesque.

Notice how obamination had to look at him, like “listen, to me, I’m over here, hey, listen to me, yo!” Well, McCain was in control, and didn’t have to listen to him. Besides, if it was me, I sure couldn’t look at him, cause I would have lost it. I liked the way McCain smiled. You know what, McCain handled obamination the same way he handled the torture. You could see it. Obamination will NEVER break McCain. McCain will be our next POTUS because the people will see that McCain will never break. He will bend when he wants to, which for an ultra-conservative like me, its hard to accept, but he will never break.

I have been polled more this year than any other. In fact, I had one pollster cracking up as I answered the questions. I guess when I didn’t just say “yes” or “no” but rather, “what kind of BS slanted question is that?” she tought it was hilarious. She told me after words that it was the most fun interview she had ever done. I was only too happy to make her day :)

My problem is that I really don’t suffer fools gladly, so it’s probably better I’ve been a fugitive from the law of averages for so long.
