It is not clear (perhaps deliberately so) from the comments of McCulloch, Joyce and the other assorted Democrat public officials in Missouri whether their supposed ferreting out of "lies" about Obama is something they are planning on doing on their own time and dime, or whether they are actually referring to indictments and prosecutions as part of their official duties.
I think it must be the former, and if that is the case I don't have any problem with it, other than the lies that they themselves will tell to cover the lying Obama.
There is no legal basis that I can see for county prosecutors to prosecute political speech, even under campaign finance law restrictions.
I think the secretary in McCulloch's office made a mistake.
