.....those that the rats call Hail Marys......
I’m pretty sure I heard Newt this morning refer to 3 McCain Hail Mary’s. I thought it was bitter sounding.

Obamas Sunday strength was both the talk of the bailout, and the fact that McCain supporters were in church.I'm not so sure I buy into that "McCain supporters were in church" explanation. I do buy into the ongoing financial news helping Obama because, well, they did. You can track Obama's recent poll bump to the day that Lehman announced it was about to declare bankruptcy (a week ago Sunday, Sept. 14). My sense is that once Congress resolves this financial bailout mess, this issue will stop working for Obama and McCain will recover all or most of his pre-September 14 small lead among registered voters (translating into a slightly larger lead among likely voters).

A
six point one day shift in a
3-day rolling poll????
My heart wants desperately to believe this, but my head knows it can't be right.

Today's Gallup poll is now matching many of the newspaper polls we have been seeing the past few days. This truly makes yesterday's ABC poll an outlier. You also have to wonder how Rasmussen got Obama +3.
+2 for McCain and -1 for Obama from yesterday (through Tuesday). I like the trend.

People would like to blame the Republicans for the financial crisis, but it’s hard not to observe that McCain is capable of real leadership, and Obama is not.

I notice the usual poll defeatists have skipped this thread. I wonder why - any idea, CatOwner? I was in a meeting until 5 minutes ago. Thanks for the ping.

Its not people changing; its different groups of people being asked.... its not like they asked Mr. X one day how he felt and then asked him the same question again the next day... sure, there might be some overlap of people sometimes but by and large it is asking different people

Obambi has been advertising heavily on NESN during Red Sox games, this must be the reason why.

I am a little concerned though that the deal being reached already means he will look like a fool for suspending his campaign.

I guess the economy crisis is not hurting McCain. Honestly, never thought it would.

Something isn’t right about these polls. _______________ Agree. An accurate poll from one day to another shouldn't vary this much.

Your comment is my IMHO it was pretty brilliant of the Old Guy to indicate he was not going to debate until this was resolved. The Media and the Rats would love to drag the malaise out as long as possible.

Something isnt right about these polls. I submit that the margin of error may be a lot larger, by factors of two or three or more, than the statisticians say they are. Obviously. I doubt there are many people at this point who have not decided. The day-to-day changes are mainly due to their sampling.
