O STUMPS AS JOHN TRUMPS
NY Post ^ | 9/25/2008 | Dick Morris, Eileen McGann

Posted on 09/25/2008 9:01:29 AM PDT by Signalman

FACING a postconvention fall in the polls, John McCain once again reshaped the dimensions of the race by suspending his campaign and calling for postponement of tomorrow's debate.

This bold move could have an impact on the race akin to McCain's choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate. Defensively, McCain had to act to stop the fall in his poll numbers.

Offensively, he has placed himself at the epicenter of the only issue on the national agenda - proactive action to stop a total international financial collapse.

Obama's response to McCain's initiative is lame. As with his initial reaction to Sarah Palin, Obama has miscalculated. While he tries to spin McCain's move as a mere response to his initiative, it was the Republican who first issued the call for a suspension of the campaigns.

Both McCain and Obama will now go to Washington. McCain on his own initiative. Obama as a result of the president's call for an economic summit.

But it is McCain who will play the proactive role. Obama will come to Washington, but will keep one foot outside the Beltway.

That’s what I thought - including significant impact on sickness in the Civil War.

More and more people, including bill clinton on abc this morning, DISAGREE with you. This move was brilliant and throws barry off in his cram session for the debate.

Clinton is now praising McCain and taking shots at the Dems
Morris = Clinton mouth piece

Look for more Clintonistas come out with knives drawn out. Clinton is trying to retake the Democratic party and the media will allow him to shape the narrative as “I was for Fannie/Freddie reform, Dems stopped me. BTW here’s the list of rotten Dems”

Oh, another of those “I meant to say” things. Being in command of your facts is so-——————boring.

It wasn’t until WWI that you had a war where more soldiers died of wounds suffered than of disease.

>When did we ever have a malaria epidemic in this country?<

One of my great grandfathers contracted malaria while a prisoner of war in Tyler, Texas. I doubt her was the only one.

His slogan is “Country First,” and here he is, proving it.

Unfortunately, the bib dribblers in the media are working overtime to insist Mac is is panic mode, he’s desperate, everything about his campaign is faltering. You know: the standard script.

Too bad. Besides, since when did debates become some sacrosanct rule for Democrats?

This may not work for the media. Bob Schieffer from CBS came out and said that Paulson called Lindsey Graham to get McCain back to Washington, that he was the only one who could broker a deal with the republicans.

The US declared victory over malaria in 1949.

Here's a short version.

It involved DDT. Unfortunately it looks like we'll have to eradicate it again thanks to Obama's party and the RINO's.

Heck it'll probably be a sexually transmitted disease in a few years.

Who thought Hepatitis would end up being a sexually transmitted disease?

When did we ever have a malaria epidemic in this country?

I distinctly remember Franklin Roosevelt coming on TV and talking about the malaria epidemic. Where were you, anyway?

Such common sense is lacking among the talking-heads.

That is very true and what I or anyone else thinks does not amount to a hill of beans... although I like beans.
