What party has held the majority of seats in the Congress in the last 25 years?

The Repubs have held a slight majority.

Meanwhile the lib/commie/socialists have had 90% of the media.

Nothing would ever pierce that dcminant megaphone the media has blaring into the public ear except a crisis like the current one, where a little more of the truth is getting out. NOTHING.

The Republican leaders knew they did not have the votes necessary so they never brought it up for a vote. Congress critters are not really that bright to understand a lot of what is happening, and couple that with liberal to moderate Republicans (RINO’s) and you have the reason why the Republican leadership knew they did not have the votes.

I agree, and therefore, we can blame the RATs all we want, but the bottom line is that the Republicans were unable to seize the moment and deal with the situation when they had the oppurtunity. Equally important, I have seen nothing to indicate that the Republican leadership made a real effort to force the necessary reforms through Congress. President Bush did not use the bully pulpit to communicate the need for reform directly to the American people. House and Senate leaders did not use the power of their office to twist arms and rein in the RINOs to obtain party unity and consensus. There were no national ad campaigns explaining the problem to the American people and urging them to contact their representatives. Instead, we got business as usual from the top down as the Republican congress handed out record amounts of pork. No wonder we lost the 2006 election.

There are many reasons the Republican Party is referred to as the stupid party, this is clearly one of the examples.
