I love these threads - haven't seen some of these old names in awhile. As a relative n00b (10 years earlier this month) I remember...I remember the Ash Alerts, the "close yer tags" and "No Italians" posts, the cries of "disruptor" before the word "troll" was even invented, Eschoir and Batjack and Deep In the Hurtgen Forest and Classy Green-Eyed Blonde. God bless Chief Negotiator (peace...pipe) and Tonk and all the others who have passed through this wonderful place.

I found FR during the Whitewater and Monica thing, which, for the really old hands, explains my nick. I do believe it's saved my sanity. Such as the latter is...

I remember all of that stuff - and Deb and Trixie and Goetz von Berlichingen and quidam and the “House afire, heart’s DEE-SI-RAH!!!” guy who would pop off with that line every time the slightest bit of negative Clinton news appeared, and everybody calling everybody else “sweetie”. Those voices are long gone, but I think a lot of today’s remaining veterans joined in 1998.

And I am so glad that Jim fixed that close your tags thing. LOL. I had forgotten about that. We would get an entire thread in bold or italics.

Wasn't this a Bulletin Board site before it was a web site? I seem to recall dialing in in the early days. Or was that somewhere else I am thinking of?
