Breaking: Obama Refuses to Delay the Debate

“In my mind, it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves to the American people and describe where we want to take the country and where we want to take the economy,” said the Democratic candidate for the Presidency, Senator Barack Obama.

The statement was given in response to Senator John McCain’s surprising announcement that he had suspended his campaign to focus on the looming financial crisis in America by returning to Washington to help craft and pass emergency legislation.

McCain had invited his opponent to join him in returning to Washington to deal with the crisis. He also asked for a delay in the first debate of the General election which is scheduled for Friday evening in Mississippi.

Senator Obama refused, telling the media “This is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person who in approximately 40 days will be responsible for dealing with this mess.” Earlier in the day, Obama had agreed to issue a joint statement with McCain concerning the crisis. However, sources in the Obama campaign are now intimating that Senator McCain’s move is some kind of political “ploy”.

NO, it’s a call from BidLaden telling nobama to give up the United States or the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia telling his to convert the United States to Wahabi or they will no longer send us oil. WHAT will nobama do, as president.

This is my opinion ONLY, then Sen. McCain sends in the only person he thinks is able to fill his shoes, should he become incompacitated, Gov. Sarah Palin. OR, there is silence... the introductions are done, the interagators begin to call off to the interagatorees, “Senator Barak Hussein Obama......silence..... OH MY GOSH!!! Senator John McCain!!!” (who in hades name thought he’d show up). So nice to see you Senator McCain, we thought you were in Washington, D.C. (Hurry up and change the questions so nobama can answer them right) Senator McCain, we’re having a problem in the village of equanitee, because the citizens want fresh water, electricity, modern plumbing in their huts, how will you make sure they have these by the end of this election?”

If that’s the case, then I’m sure Senator John McCain will send in his second string, GOV. SARAH PALIN, and she’ll make mincemeat of nobama.

The way I see this shaping up now, the debate gets held, with Obambi not having adequate memorization time - thereby increasing the uhs, ums, ers, ahs, and other gaffes from the Obamahdi.

I have a hard time believing that the McCain team did not scheme out their response to all of these various scenarios. McCain’s campaign has been too solid in its ability to be unconventional as of late not to believe they considered the potential outcomes.

Just my $.02, of course.

From your mouth to God's ears...Let's hope it's a brilliant move on McCain's part as his polls have dropped 10 points in 3 days thanks to the financial crisis. And to think, both the White House and McCain have been warning the world about this since April 2001.

God Bless W. Bush--he'll get the blame for this in spite of warned of it since 2001--much like he issued the clarion call about Social Security demographics and was scorned for his efforts. It makes me sick to see Barney Frank complaining about the situation when Fox News tonight played him talking about the security of Fannie Mae in an interview in 2005. Chris Dodd was a direct beneficiary of this excess and he's on the air as some sort of martyred hero. Truly, disgusting....

That’s a rookie move on Obama’s part. In these times, he needs to stop thinking about his campaign for one second. He’ll appear very badly for this...if he’s stubborn.

McCain’s position is appropriate, and if Obama was thinking at all...he’d agree to a one week stall....or just till the job is done.

That leaves a couple of 100 million that get it elsewhere... (Not going into a debate how many of those 28mm are repeat visitors and/or from outside the US)
