Obama making your points now -- "a president needs to be able to do more than one thing at once." The Obama campaign should be paying me for that!
Well, McCain isn't president yet, but he is a senior senator. He has responsibilities as vice-chair of the Commerce committee and to his constituents. Obama, on the other hand, won't be missed as he has spent most of his time in the US senate running for president.

Abraham Lincoln, FDR, George W Bush, during some of the toughest times this nation has faced, all found the time to run their respective wars and still debate their opponents.
As I said, if McCain can somehow find the time to speak at the Clintons' shindig (which is tonight, not tomorrow as I had initially thought), if John McCain has time for Bill Clinton, he's got time to debate in front the American people.
