I think this is a very bad idea. McCain seems to be reactionary in a big way. He isn’t showing calm in the face of this crisis. It’s a knee jerk reaction not a good campaign strategy.
Hey, All — not only did McCain make a brilliant move, but one of these hours some brainiac in the MSM is going to have to say “Hey, wait a minute, BIDEN is also a US Senator, why isn’t HE there in DC trying to work out a solution to this huge problem” (I don’t know, maybe someone is already saying that, I’ve barely been online today)..... then Governor Palin will be the only one “allowed” to campaign right now..... :^)
But then the MSM and Demagogues will get so upset over that, and she will also probably need to “suspend” active campaigning to keep the MSM from melting down.... otherwise they’ll claim it’s all just a ploy by McCain to take all but our Sarah off the campaign trail!!
What we really need is in the midst of McConnell stepping aside for McCain to take the GOP leadership role is Joe Lieberman then switching to caucus with the GOP, making McCain the Senate Majority Leader (with help from Cheney casting the tie-breaker vote) so McCain can take charge on the whole senate effort.
Who complains when debates are cancelled?
The guy whos behind!
Again, I think McCain should respond along the lines of "Fine. I'll send Sarah Palin." Presuming of course that Sarah is up to it, as she would be.
Could be brilliant. Could be one of the great electoral mistakes of all time. I truly do not know which, but I do believe this shows McCain to be serious when it comes to Country First. Even in the face of some polling that has show an Uhbamuh surge, I have remained fully confident this election is McCain's. He either has clinched the presidency or snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
He voted against the assault weapons ban. He voted for Bork.
I love this. I was disappointed in McCain the message AND McCain the man when I read that neither he nor Obama would be voting on this.
This is what he should do. Not to mention the politics are brilliant.
Obama calls McCain and proposes joint statement, McCain says fine.
McCain braintrust sees that Obama has tipped his hand and committed to nothing more than a brief joint statement.
McCain then doubles down and announces campaign suspension to go to DC and deal with this in the Senate.
Obama has no good option now.
FACT-McCain went public with his announcement (see DRUDGE)
FACT-Obama comes out AFTER THE FACT and says it was HIS idea
FACT-There is no public record of him saying anything about suspending the campaign OR going back to Washington to tend to business.
Fact-Obama is desperately playing catch up here but McCain has the headlines be cause despite what Hussein says McCain was there first, acting the leader and now Obama is looking very much the follower.
Obama is only up in propagandized polls.
Either way, McCain just rolled the dice and came up with another brilliant move.
And the McCain threw the dice loaded with 6's Heehee.
Touche'!
I got a chuckle out of that entirely correct retort.
Not so fast grasshopper....
I seem to remember 0bambi challenging McCain to 10 town hall debates anywhere...any time....and he consequently reneged on that...... 0bambi is a ZERO without a teleprompter....sand in the gears between the ears.
Michelle Malkin coming up on Cavuto for anyone interested.
And the MSM will gladly take up the cry.
Gah.
Hahaha!
Send Sarah Palin to debate 0bama!
Brilliant!
And ya wanna bet he gets bi-partisan cooperation (with Leibermans backroom help)?
{Hello, independent and moderate voters!}”
Yep. I think McCain is pulling a little rope a dope. Everyone knows a deal has to be reached by Friday. All these politicians need to get home to campaign. They will come up with something that no one will like, including all of us, but it will be done. The debates will go on and McCain will come out on top.
Fox is saying McCain suspended his campaign but the debate is on.
McCain is a leader, Obama is a power hungry $%^*$#(+#$&@*
