Been choking my way thru the Emmys ... worst, dippiest, stupidest I've ever seen. Laura Linney (whom I really admire professionally), who was so awesome as John Adams' wife in John Adams, had to ruin the moment by signing off with: (paraphrasing) "thank you, John Adams, and all the community organizers that made this country great.." I knew Linney was a looney, but that was a total cheap shot. Whatever happened to accepting your award, saying "thank you" and getting the hell off the stage?
