A few years ago my wife and I ate at a small English-style restaurant run by a chef from London close to where we live. I ordered a pasty, and was surprised to see it come with gravy. It tasted delicious.
One of my co-workers is from the U.P., and her family had pasties every Sunday like other people have roast beef. She asked me one time what I ate it with. She said you have to eat it with catsup. I said that's what I eat it with. Yummy.
You should have listened to him...it could have been your million dollar widget! ;>0)
Yeah!!! Ketchup and chow-chow!
I guess for a change, gravy is acceptable, but I’d be skewered alive by my family if I did that to their dinner!
lol
What we dont have makes up for what we dont have....LOL...lived in the UP since 1986, been half way around the world and cant find anyplace better (as a whole). Now about those trolls...LOL
I'm a bit curious here - seein’ as I'm on the west coast in south Michigan right now - Are you describin’ the desperate females or the desperate males with this here wording ???
What is this “pasty” of which you speak?
Is it edible? Or is it describin’ the desperate females as they emerge from their igloos (er, houses) in spring? 8<)
By the way, the reason I started this little exercise is that I recently met a very attractive lady from Northern Michigan. We met at our 40th HS reunion in Flint.
We like each other a lot. So I'm trying to imagine what it would be like to live up there. I've been in Tampa for 30+ years.
Hint: You will probably wear more clothes in Green Bay, compared to Tampa Bay, at the same time of the football season.
