RANGEL'S DIRTY POLITICS: DEMS NEED CLEAN SWEEP (is Pelosi helping Charlie pay taxes from earmarks?)
NY POST ^ | 9/20/08 | VOX POPULI

Posted on 09/20/2008 5:15:37 AM PDT by Liz

***The tangle with Rangel is his sense of entitlement - he thinks that he's the only person ever to make it out of the ghetto......ethical behavior is the cornerstone to good government..... Throw the bum out. NAMES REDACTED

****Rangel won't resign; Pelosi won't let him.

****Rangel is one sleazy character. The Democrats should not give him the option to step down, they should demand it.

****If Rangel were a Republican, Pelosi and the rest of her minions would be calling for his scalp. Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

****Who can blame Rangel? He has never really worked for a living, and he doesn't even have to work to be elected. His career in Congress has been marked by few achievements beyond self-enrichment, which he has obviously done a good deal of, yet he sits in a position of power and influence.

**** When is Pelosi going to clean up Congress? Maybe she's staying in one of his apartments, signing his letterhead and paying his taxes.

****The Democratic Party fails to hold such people responsible for their corrupt deeds and demand their removal from office, as they do any Republican who would commit far less a violation of public trust.

**** While Pelosi and pals persist in pouncing on Palin, they refuse to wrestle with Rangel. Partisan politics prevail.

Everyone must have missed the 2nd paragraph of my post. Though he did serve, it doesn’t make up for the fact that he has broken the laws, and should step aside until any and all investigations are complete.

I am definitely not sticking up for the guy. Just stating a fact from the original article where it stated that he has never really held a job. The Army is definitely a job.

Palin promises a clean sweep--the last thing the politicians in Washington and their henchpersons--notably in the "Newsmedia"--want. If corruption were cleaned up--they'd be out of a job, and most of them would be in jail.

Nothing horrifies the mendacious like truth.

Nothing horrifies the corrupt like a clean sweep.

In fact, a negative reaction to Gov. Palin is an excellent indicator of mendacity and corruption, and their magnitudes are directly proportional.

It'd be nice to see some ads coming out from the GOP House candidates that make this message loud and clear.

They've got to. They can't just sit back and let the criminal Democrats and their campaign groups in the media bury this.

Can you imagine the outcry...the media feeding frenzy if a Republican had done this?

The Politics of Personal Enrichment – A Proposed Free Republic Team Project Posted by 9/20/2008 | dirtboy

During the last election cycle, the Democrats and the MSM made considerable political hay from the Abramoff scandal, where lobbyist Jack Abramoff directed campaign contributions and perks to Republicans and Democrats alike (somehow, the MSM seldom got around to mentioning the Democrats involved in the scandal, such as Harry Reid). The non-stop MSM harping on the Abramoff scandal was a key factor in the GOP Congressional defeats of 2006 (along with GOP overspending).

But Abramoff’s impact was mostly about filling campaign coffers, not the bank accounts of politicians and their relatives. Over the last few years, multiple reports of direct enrichment of Democratic elected officials and well-connected insiders have come to light – but these stories have received nowhere near the media coverage as the Abramoff scandal, despite the fact that the corruption and its impacts are far more drastic:

- The Fannie and Freddie Salad Bar
- Chris Dodd – Countrywide’s Sweetheart
- Harry Reid’s Dirty Real Estate Deals and Dirtier Offspring
- Joe Biden – MBNA Sugar Daddy
- The Speaker and the Windbag (Pelosi Blocks Drilling while Investing in T Boone’s Scheme)
- Charlie Rangel and the Rent-Controlled Office Space
- Obama’s Thank-You For My Wife’s Raise Earmark
