Exclusive: New Doubts Over Palin's Troopergate Claims

Internal Government Document Contradicts Sarah Palin, Campaign

By JUSTIN ROOD

September 19, 2008—

An internal government document obtained by ABC News appears to contradict Sarah Palin's most recent explanation for why she fired her public safety chief, the move which prompted the now-contested state probe into "Troopergate."

Fighting back against allegations she may have fired her then-Public Safety Commissioner, Walt Monegan, for refusing to go along with a personal vendetta, Palin on Monday argued in a legal filing that she fired Monegan because he had a "rogue mentality" and was bucking her administration's directives.

"The last straw," her lawyer argued, came when he planned a trip to Washington, D.C., to seek federal funds for an aggressive anti-sexual-violence program. The project, expected to cost from $10 million to $20 million a year for five years, would have been the first of its kind in Alaska, which leads the nation in reported forcible rape.

If she fired or transferred him, it's because he was a good-old-boy who was undermining everything she was trying to accomplish. Maybe he deluded himself into thinking he should have been Governor by divine right.

Besides since the ex-brother-in-law threatened the family, it would sure benefit Monegan, now wouldn't it!!! Great tactic of doing nothing and letting someone else do your dirty work for you.

I don’t understand the aerial wolf hysteria. I’m not a hunter. In fact, I don’t eat very much meat at all. I’m not sure what’s the distinction about hunting from the air vs on the ground or killing livestock on a farm?? Just dumb raw emotionalism?

Okay, I read the linked article.

Looks like several miscommunications errors and maybe an attempt to disguise the purposes of the trip on the part of the commissioner.

New Doubts Over Palin's Troopergate Claims

Clearly this is a political show trial, but boy howdy, the dims are scared spitless of Palin. Here I've been thinking that the Clinton crime family were the ultimate dirty political players, but now I see I was wrong. The Obamas will do anything and everything to take her and her family out. Make me wonder: is there an Obama Death List? If not, should he become Prez, we'll have to start one.

Sure would be nice if the media cared this much about Barry’s Iraqgate huh?

Especially when the same media squalled for years about Reagan doing almost.exactly.the.same.thing.

And in that case they had not one shred of evidence.

Clowns.

What did ABC have to say about the son of the Democrat Tennessee Congressman hacking her email and making public her daughter’s cell phone number?

Not to go off topic, but do any of these programs ever work??

If you need a govt. worker to tell you “no, that’s bad, don’t do it”, chances are the problem goes a lot deeper. Some guy is not going to say “Oh, okay! My mistake!”

“Sure would be nice if the media cared this much about Barry’s Iraqgate huh?”

Or Rezko.
Or Ayers.
Or his FannieMae/FreddieMac connection$.
Or his birth certificate.
Or the Larry Sinclair story.
Or his spiritual mentor, Rev. Wright.
Or his first mentor Frank Davis.
Or...

Pick one, any one.

Wasn’t Linda Douglas an ABC “news” reporter as well? Now of course, she is press spokesman for the Obama campaign. So, typical of ABC “news” reporters, she has gone from being the unpaid spokesman for the Obama campaign to the paid spokesman for the Obama campaign. I wonder when the rest of her chorots at ABC will end this farce of being “objective” and go openly on the Obama payroll.

SO the whole story is that someone else on Palin’s staff signed the guy’s travel expense voucher. Wow that proves she couldn’t have been unhappy with his activities. Not.

ALL of this is completely irrelevant. Under Alaska law and its constitution, Monegan served at Governor Palin’s pleasure. Once he incurred her displeasure, she invoked her right and privilege as governor to fire his sorry butt. Case closed, no ifs, ands, or buts.

So the claim is what - that a Governor is supposed to approve and know about every travel request?

I believe you’re correct. Washington and most universities are clearly watering holes for mental whores, and I politely submit that no gender is excluded.

I tried to post this at ABCNews, but apparently they aren't accepting comments critical of the story, so I'll post it here.

Wow. This is just huge. A miscommunication within the governor's office about Travel reimbursements. Wow. STOP. THE. PRESSES.

The firing of an AT WILL employee is big news to ABCNews... because ...?

So I take it that ABC will soon be reporting on Frank Marhsall Davis, the CPUSA mentor that Barack mentions in one of his memoirs? Or his continued association with domestic terrorist William Ayers, which, by Barack's own admission continued until he started running for President 1.5 years ago? Or Barack's claim that he barely knew Ayers, a man who launched his political career? Will we be hearing about Barack's years as a get-out-the-vote-fraud artist for ACORN -- a communist front organization and crime syndicate during the years when he was pretending to be a social worker? Barack's millions from Freddy/Fannie? Barack's connections to sub-prime lenders?

No?

Just more non-stories about a political witch hunt being led by two people --besides ABCNews, that is -- who not coincidentally work for Barack Obama's campaign. Uh huh.
