This is exactly the kind of liberal ‘RAT crap that got us into this mess. Waters needs a swift kick in the ass.

CRA and repeal of Glass-Stegall were the genesis of the problem. Forcing lending institutions to give loans to people who didn't have the ability to repay them (certain ethnic and racial minorities in particular) on pain of not being allowed to issue any loans was a key defect in CRA. Waters thinks she can criticize the financial institutions for complying with the legal mess that Congress created. She can just stuff it in her pie hole. She is part of the problem.

Next thing this moonbat will come up with is a survey to find out how many retired people are living in a 3 bedroom home and tell them they have 30 days to get out of a house they paid for in full because they don’t need that much room for two..this way they can give this nice house to a family of 5...

She's covered. Nancy Pelosi said the Democrats didn't have anything to do with the crisis. That's good enough for the press.

Do you want to know what all this is?

This is the failure to privatize the ghetto.

After all the stupid government-built projects were destroyed and not kept up by low income housing folks (ie the ghettos), and the blacks got tired of being ‘2nd class citizens’ having to live in govt housing,

the government said “We’re not pissing away more money building huge buildings to house these people. The problem is they don’t own it, and don’t feel responsible for it. They can’t get loans from the banks. We must force the banks to give these people loans even though they are high risk.”

So the govt forced banks to increase lending to higher risk groups - ie, giving loans to people who should not have gotten them because they were huge credit risks - and would penalize banks for not doing so.

At the same time banks got used to lending these bad loans and some banks invested heavily in these higher risk loans. These are the banks failing now.

But the whole concept was to privatize the ghetto. Give the people home ownership and they’d take better care of it. Never figuring these people wouldn’t be able to handle their loans. Never figuring that many people felt entitled to loans that were way bigger than they should have been given, or picked a house that was beyond their means.

Makes me sick. Now it’s a combination of the government’s fault for forcing this policy on our banks, and setting up this calamity and causing credit tightening that affects people with good credit who now can’t get loans, and messing up the real estate market. It also is partially the fault of greedy banks over-leveraging themselves in these risky loans. they are both to blame.

And if you ask her who her broker is she’ll still tell you Salomon, Smith , Barney Frank. As far as economic knowledge, if you showed this lady a penny and a quarter she couldn’t tell you the difference, and then call you a racist for picking different colored coins.

lending industry should be prepared to discuss these issues and possible solutions during hearings.

Sure no problem.. get off your lazy a$$ and get a job, save for a down payment, buy a house like the rest of us.

There, discussed and a solution found

Democrats continue to push for unsecured home loans.

As Harold Raines continues in his role a economic adviser to the Obama campaign.
