This afternoon, I mentioned an infamous group of hackers whose Internet bulletin board was the gathering place for those who bragged about and publicized the Sarah Palin private e-mail hacking.
A tech-savvy reader who monitors the hackers site e-mailed me a detailed explanation of how it went down, who was responsible, and how someone with a conscience warned a friend of the Palin family of the crime (language warning):

The email address of the hacker is another confusing issue. 4Chan hackers don’t post their own, they use Anonymous (it is kind of a joke) or a nicknake, but never an email address. If you search Google for Rubico10, you find the name on a lot of gaming boards, all with a very different writing style as the ‘confession’ from 4Chan I posted earlier...
Something really stinks about this.. I think someone is using 4Chan as a scapegoat or to do the hack.. this just doesn’t smell right at all..
Thank God!! There have been times during this election cycle when I thought all was lost, as in, wrong was gong to trump right.
The hacker reset the password to “POPCORN”.
Kernell - popcorn
too cute
Here is a question for the attorney’s out there. Apparently AP is in possession of these emails. Knowing that they were retrieved illegally is AP also in legal trouble for possession of stolen mail?
Has he been in Texas?
"Never write when you can speak, never speak when you can wink, and never wink when you can nod" -- increasingly, words to live by when you have active enemies.
As I have pointed out in the DUmmie FUnnies, DUmmies do not think, they merely react to stimuli based, with their reactions based on key "memes" developed over time. In this case, what we have are the following "memes" in play:
As seen by: a) someone hacks Palin's email; b) the DUmmies get in a tizzy waiting for the certain-to-be incriminating evidence to pour our; c) no such "evidence" is found. This leads to the next meme...
Refusing to even consider that their previous assumptions must be wrong, they immediately switch to the next autonomous responses, in this case, two different conspiracy plans, incompatible with each other, yet still both believed: a) The account was deleted before the "juicy" stuff was found, and b) This was all a red herring planted by Rove to garner sympathy for Palin.
Of course, the last part falls into another meme...
reps They were using /b/ to cover the tracks
I bet the kid is an Obama supporter ...
bump
You guys are the best. I have even bragged that Free Republic brought down another high-value target, just like Dan Rather and his ‘fake but accurate’ documentary. Good job, all around.
Congratulations. Well done.
Ping.

I agree. If this Kernell kid is 15, then he cannot be prosecuted as an adult. Interesting if he's the cat's paw for a dem monkey, providing plausible deniability.
Freepers are pretty talented folks alright. I concur!!
It is amazing what can be accomplished, when folks that care deeply for this country and her constitution, work together.
The kids isn’t 15... that was his old profile from 2003 he is 20 now.
Yes, thanks for the correction to my post. I heard that on Fox News this morning. I guess he can be prosecuted as an adult. Heh.
