Racist slurs were spray-painted across a large Barack Obama presidential campaign billboard alongside a heavily trafficked stretch of US-23 in Pittsfield Township sometime overnight Tuesday.
And the U.S. Secret Service is investigating what now appears to be two threatening letters against Obama that were received in Livingston County, according to news reports.
Michigan State Police were on the scene of the billboard Wednesday morning, and have called in for tracking dogs, police said.
Black spray paint was used to draw three swastikas, symbols of Klan hoods and to write "KKK," "Rebel" and two racial slurs.
The billboard, roughly 10 feet tall by 50 feet wide, is located where Textile Road deadends near US-23, east of Carpenter Road.

It's not clear how many similar incidents have happened nationwide. Mark Potok, executive director of the Southern Poverty Law Center, an Alabama-based organization that tracks hate crimes, said he's aware of only one other incident in Virginia - and that appeared to involve a regular campaign sign rather than a billboard. In that case, "KKK" was painted on the sign.

My thoughts exactly.
This happens quite a bit around the Detroit area, BUT it is important to note it ends up being done by blacks themselves.
It is like the Demo playbook regarding elections. No voter tampering - make it up.
They (the truthers) imply that the Bush administration was behind the 9-11 attacks but deliberately made it look like it was the Muslim terrorists. This was done (purportedly) to give the Administration the excuse to invade Iraq.
I’m betting it was a couple of Liberals thinking they could get this blamed on “right wing”, “red neck” Republican/Conservatives.
Last time Republicans were accused of doing something like this the police found a group of blacks trying to foment hatred against whitey.
DON'T RUSH TO JUDGMENT because this sounds like something the Obama campaign would do to generate sympathy.

The democrats have been playing the race card a lot lately, this is contrived.
This smells like the left's handiwork.
It looks like Obama's Race Baiting Strategy has taken the next step.
They are playing the VICTIM CARD.
First they make accusations.
Then, they manufacture the proof to validate their acusations.
Now the Obama campaign can point to this and say "We told you the whites are racists."
Expect to see more of this as election day nears.

Besides, this is the Peoples Republic of Ann Arbor we are talking about. Conservatives are a little thin on the ground and tend to have a bit of the gulag stare.

You assume a white bigot actually did it. I wouldn’t put it past Onada’s thugs to do it themselves. How many times has his mother and/or grandmother been set upon in the past couple of months. There is a pattern here. And remember, with these folks it’s the severity of the accusation that counts. Not the facts. There’s gonna be loads of dirty tricks by the time this campaign.
