Historic opportunities deserve much praise and much pause. Americans should laud the possibility of the first Black American President, but they should also contemplate the qualities and vision of that prospective President; and more importantly what these would mean for the potential of another Black American President.
I ask the 92% of Black Americans, and the many White Americans who want to prove they are not racist, what will you say or do when Obama doesn’t deliver?
Not too many of us are ready to face the hard facts of what an Obama Administration would bring: historically high tax increases, more nanny state programs that nurture dependency on government, a health care program that would bankrupt the federal government, an energy policy that would make us more dependent on foreign oil, a slashed national defense, and a less secure country. In other words, Obama’s “Change” is a code word for Jimmy Carter.
Obama has capitalized on his skin color, counting on Black Americans to vote for him simply because he is “Black.” When the issues are at the forefront, Obama’s poll numbers go down and his race rhetoric heats up. In Pennsylvania on Saturday, reeling from a charged RNC Convention, Obama told his audience, “I know that the temptation is to say, …You know, 'he’s got funny name,' You know, 'we’re not sure about him,'...And that’s what the Republicans, when they say, 'This isn’t about issues, it’s about personalities,' what they’re really saying is, 'We’re going to try to scare people about Barack. So we’re going to say that you know, maybe he’s got Muslim connections or we’re going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or he’s not patriotic.'”
Obama’s dependence on identity politics could prove disastrous for the future of Black political leaders. A failed Obama administration has the potential to create a racial backlash. Those who voted for Obama, based simply on his “Blackness”, could easily become disheartened and blame his failings simply on his skin color.
Black-Americans deserve better representation. We deserve a person who has proven their loyalty to their heritage, to their country and to their neighbor. Unfortunately, Obama has not provided these, and Black America is blindly settling for less. Now is not the time for us to cash in on this type of representation of the first Black President. Let’s hold. Let’s be patient. Let’s wait.
none of us no matter what or skin color should ‘settle’ for obama.
Many Americans of African descent would be excellent Presidents. Barack Obama is not one.
I wonder how many black voters don’t like Obama but are afraid to say so. It could be a couple of percent! It’s not Wilder effect, it’s intimidation effect. One more reason the polls could be off.
In other words, obama’s “change” is a code word for socialism. If you continue to take the gov’t cheese you become a RAT!!!!!!!
The problem Barry is not that Republicans are saying these things about you...the problem is that it's all true.
It’s a shame. You’d think that more middle class blacks would vote with their wallet—but they don’t. Especially any black person over 45 still sees the old black Civil Rights establishment as God. Jesse Jackson and the rest are so passe, it’s terrible. Obama might be of a younger generation, but he is the same old same—or perhaps even worse-— a more highly indoctrinated socialist than most of the Civil Rights crowd.
It may be more than that. Remember, Obama only got 86% of the black vote against Hillary in Pennsylvania.
If he’s counting on getting 95-96% in the general, he’s going to be sadly disappointed.
You can’t get 92% of any sample of people to agree on anything. 92% of a group will not agree that grass is green.
Therefore, I can only conclude that black Americans, in general, are racist.
They couldn’t name one person they new who has lost their job in the last year do to layoffs but said the telecoms failure in the late 90’s was no big deal. When I said I was one of the people who was laid off in 2000 and lost all my 401K - they said it was the republican's fault.
No one I work around even knows how our government works. I feel so defeated - it seems no one is even willing to look into Obama’s true motives and just believe everything the MSN reports.
I'm not so sure Obama can be defeated in November

I applaud Barack, the half-black, for knocking out Clinton Inc. Monumental achievement. Thanks Barack! I part company with his (or hers or any ‘rats) half-baked socialist/progressive philosophy.
The Clintons were knocked out by the media, not Obama.
Obama became the new darling of the media.
I was thinking that myself: If Obama wins and delivers a lousy presidential term, the chances of seeing another black elected might be diminished for a long time. One other part of the equation is this: If he wins, Dems might interpret that as this dictum, “We have to have a black on the presidential ticket from now on.”
That said, if Obama loses, his loss might doom the chances of another black Democrat getting the nod, opening the door for Republicans to seize back part of the black vote in upcoming elections.
The only remaining oppression for blacks is the lies and manipulation of liberals.

The Media, the Democrat National Committee's print/audio/video/entertainment reporters manufacturers, have candidates to manufacture. They manufactured Bill. Re-manufacturing Hillary created quality control problems. Enter Barack.
Not me brother, they are the PROBLEM not the solution. And what you see now are the effects of 40 years of (liberal)Public Schools and the great society social programs. Mass weakness for socialism.
