A possible pick-up!
I don’t know about the validity of the polling firm, just alerted you guys to review it. We know Kanjorski is a screw-up, but the question is whether his constituents do and will really toss him. Republicans can win it, though it’s difficult (we last held it for a single term from 1981-83 with Jim Nelligan). Interesting trivia point, we previously won it before that (away from the long-time Dem incumbent Dan Flood) in 1952. So that was 28 years. It’s now 28 years since we last won it this year. ;-)
Guess the Pride of Scranton didn’t impress all those bitter, Bible-clinging gun nuts.
This will also help deliver Pa to McCain.
Never heard of the firm. The POTUS numbers (3-point lead for Berry) seem to jive with what you might except in a conservative blue collar rat seat, maybe it’s true. Would be a sweet pickup.
Props to Kanjorski though for admitting the dems are liars.
Unfortunately, Lou , like many other candidates makes it difficult to donate by check. When you go to the “Contribute” section of his website you only get instructions of how to donate by credit card.

HAZLETON U.S. Congressional candidate Hazleton Mayor Lou Barletta issued the following statement [on 9/17] about the poll conducted by Franklin & Marshall College/Times Shamrock Newspapers:
Obviously, Im very encouraged by the results of the first public poll conducted in my race. Those results seem to coincide with what Ive been hearing all across the 11th Congressional District: The hardworking people of northeastern Pennsylvania want a new congressman. They are tired of the same old, embarrassing antics and the dismal lack of leadership in Congress and they want change. Our internal polls have shown that, and this public poll validates the results weve seen. People know that change is on the way, and theyre excited about that.
Still, I am not going to take any vote for granted. Im going to continue to work hard for every single vote. Im extremely grateful for the support Ive received so far, and I look forward to the last seven weeks of this campaign. Ive felt a lot of momentum ever since I announced my candidacy in February, and I will continue to push hard to bring home a victory in November.

I personally handed him my check so I didn’t have a problem.
This is excellent news. Barletta is leading in an Independent poll.
Bump
Luzerne County, which includes Hazleton where Barletta is mayor, went 51% Kerry - 48% Bush. If Barletta is successful there, he might help McCain out.
