Biden: Economic mess is McCain's fault
Local | September 16, 2008 | From The Deer Stand

Posted on 09/16/2008 5:24:35 AM PDT by From The Deer Stand

On the Today Show V.P. candidate Joe Biden blames the current economic crunch on John McCain's failure to take action the past few years. He also cited 8 years of a failed Republican administration, forgetting of course that things started to tumble since the do-nothing Democrats took control of Congress. Biden showed his "attack dog" mentality once again.

HUD’s 1992 and 1995 affordable housing goals are what set this all in motion. Yes, the first black president put into effect the platform to push mortgages at people who could not afford them, setting the inevitable results of now in motion.

This 'attack dog' will pee himself if he ever runs up against a pitbull.

I am starting to see why Biden was picked now. It is like American Idol. You start with the really awful talents and it makes the ones who have a chance, look a whole lot better.

Too much.

Did anyone ask Ol' Joe why HE failed to take any action all these years he's been in the Senate?

I’m sure those fine journalists on the Today Show asked about what the Democrats have done for the economy since they’ve taken power, right? /s

You’d think Biden would have been voted off by now.

So, what is Biden's excuse? He's a Senator, too.

And, what is Obama's excuse? He's a Senator, also.

In fact, the party of Biden and Obama has majority control of the Senate.

To be fair, it takes more than blaming Clinton. Bush was (still is) President and if this was a problem (federal economic intervention which was contrary to sound economic policy) it was HIS job to say something about it. He didn’t. Yeah he had plenty of other stuff to do. Still, we haven’t dealt with SS either have we? Tried and failed. Part of the answer is that Americans need to get economic education and take this stuff seriously. And TANSTAAFL! They also need to learn the phrase “moral hazard.” It’s one of the consequences of government action in markets where the gov has NO business getting involved. When you privatize the gains of capitalism (ask Jamie Gorelick about how much fun that is) and dump the risks on the public, some people need to go to jail for fraud.

Have James Johnson on his VP search and close ties to this day Harold Raines who cooked the books for Millions in bonuses.

Don't stop there.

Bush's not only allowing, but encouraging, banks to give loans to illegals and those otherwise unqualified has added to the crisis.

Just months ago there were articles about illegals who got $$$ for home loans and then absconded to south of the border, leaving the banks holding the mortgages and uncollectable loans.

There is plenty of blame for both sides of the aisle for this current financial crisis.
