You have to be kidding. They are in just about the same situation - bankrupt within weeks without a Fed-enabled, Bear Stearns-style bailout/takeover.

Wamu is a “dead bank walking”
Wachovia is in dire straights.

Thank you so much for correcting the Wachovia/WaMu confusion. I almost panicked and went immediately to google to see what was wrong with Wachovia. Fortunately Wachovia is in good shape!
