MADISON, Wis. - Sen. John McCain is sharply increasing his number of campaign aides and offices in Wisconsin, where he has worked his way back into a tight presidential race with Sen. Barack Obama.
Through a barrage of television ads, campaign events and the selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate, McCain has pulled closer in a state some Democrats hoped would be an Obama stronghold this cycle.
Now McCain is working to catch up to what Democrats say is Obama's biggest strength in the state -- organization -- by increasing the number of offices from 10 to 18 and paid staff members from 20 to about 30.
The developments come as the Republican Party base that had been lukewarm to the self-described maverick senator in Wisconsin has been energized by Palin. Across the state, Republicans are describing a wave of new volunteers and donations after the Alaska governor was added to the ticket.
"They're saying it grabbed their attention and changed their stance about standing on the sidelines and getting involved," said Tom Van Drasek, chairman of the Brown County Republican Party in Green Bay. "Now the energy level is way up."

Not to worry...........Milwaukee County will create whatever votes are “NEEDED”.
Wisconsin in play??!! Who woulda thunk it??!!
More bad news for Obama bin Biden.
More and more states that should have been solid BLUE are going PURPLE then RED.
OH - MI - VA - NC - NJ - MN - WI - PA
What is happening - some of these state polls are not done very frequent. So some of these are teh 1st polls since the GOP Convention.
So I expect the bad news to continue to continue for the Dems
Not to worry...........Milwaukee County will create whatever votes are NEEDED.
Why do Republicans run in elections anymore?
Fruad meant there was not chance for either Reagan or Bush.
Anyone who was around for the 2004 election.
Yep! I’m sure that Milwaukee will have 190 percent voter turnout.
Guys,, Wisconsin,,,,in play? That alone says a lot,,,
Theyll steal it, of course, wasn’t that the place where homeless votes were bought for cigarettes last election?
But it’s ok, every penny they spend and effort they make to steal Wisconsin depletes him more. He’s in deep trouble. Soon, no rational person will give away money to a clearly losing cause.
Our attorney general is attempting to clean up the voting rolls.

I just got a call from someone working the phone banks for Obama. They’re looking for volunteers. I live in one of most Republican areas of the state & they’re looking for volunteers here?
Sarah will win Wisconsin for McCain. Despite the MSM slime, she comes across as a nice and genuine person. She is also clean since the phony scandals the MSMDNC are cooking up just don’t pass the smell test. Most importantly, she sounds like a cheesehead with that accent.
She energizes the conservative outside the socialist utopias (Madison and Milwaukee) and pulls in a lot of independent “good government” types that make up a lot of the Wisconsin electorate.
Just a thought and open for discussion. The polls reflect a trend of opinions made 7 or 8 days back in most cases. The rapid response of posting on the internet still doesnt change the situation. It seems the trends come out on Tues. or Wed. for some reason. Any thoughts?
