Electoral victories of Democrats is a matter the media elites take immensely personal. Bill Clintons victory in 92 was seen as their victory, the ascension to power of all children of the 60s (although Clinton is more conservative than they are, we must bear in mind that perception always trumps reality when it comes to the whimsical allegiances of superficial media elites) . Their fierce allegiance has now transferred to their replacement hero, Obama, who is far more radical than Clinton ever was and who may be even more radical than the media elites are themselves.
So its understandable that theyre personally upset. Whats not excusable is that theyve, in effect, walked off the job. Theyre refusing to report and have instead assumed the role of attack dogs for their campaign of choice. Yes, theyve favored, lied and manipulated the news for years, many times in very inexcusable ways. But they never campaigned as overtly for or against a campaign as they are now. Theyve never been so full of bile as they are today. Theyve never acted as outrageously and been so openly spiteful as they are with their anti-Palin, pro-Obama crusade. And in the process, theyve thrown their integrity straight out the window.
Joining their ranks is the once respected Charlie Gibson. Hes done similar things before and his biases are very much a reality. But the sad thing is not that he was never as overtly biased as he is now, as is the case with the rest of the media. The truly sad part is that the level of nastiness and hypocrisy displayed by him is uncharacteristic and is a blemish on an otherwise fairly decent career (as decent as one can expect from one in todays mass media).

Striaght out of the DNC talking points memo to their cesspool sycophancy.
Back in the fifties, “Professional Wrestlers” took great pains to pretend that they were not fakes, now they just call it sports entertainment and only the kookiest of the kooks take it seriously.
“Preofessional Journalists” are on a parallel path.
Go to ABCs site and sound off. I hit the 500 character max.

I sent mine.
If I could photshop—I’d put a piggy nose and piggy ears on Gibson’s head, smear on some lipstick and put the heading...”If you put lipstick on a sexist pig, it’s still a sexist pig.”
The interview was painful to watch, and even while I do hold Gibson in utter contempt for his obvious sabotage of Gov. Palin, I wish she’s have dealt with him more effectively.
One thing that came to mind was the numerous “alpha male” types that have opposed Sarah Palin politically and been tossed onto the loser’s pile in her wake. Gibson now joins that bunch.
Seems Palin has a rare combination of beauty, brains, conservative conviction, courage, and character(not to mention determination) that these men have never encountered before. They are mainly disarmed and flummoxed by her presence, and wind up being chumped if they try to stand in her way.
Hey Diogenesis,
Could you explain why the background in that photo of the interview you posted differs from the so called “full interview” posted on the ABC site here? http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=5793131
Your background has a flowered garden, which looks like it was taken in the late spring or summer. But the background in this ABC site is of Gov. Palin’s backyard, nice enough but no profusion of flowers, as you would expect in September in Alaska. The furniture is different, too.
What am I missing. Were there two interviews or two sites in this one interview? Did they edit the surrounding scenery of Gov. Palin’s home?
When one compares the two sets of questions that Gibson asked Palin and Obama, one can only deduce that Gibson is a racist. He posed insultingly fluff questions to Obama, easy questions, non-challenging questions, as if he considers Obama to be less intelligent than a Caucasian like Palin. Like Gibson is insulting a Black man’s intelligence by not asking him the really challenging questions.
The “interview” (read: cross-examination) took place over 2 days in 2 different locations. That’s why.
Target, Glade Scented Oil (SC Johnson), Plavix, Advil PM, Verizon, BlindsTOGo, Magic Eraser (Mr. Clean), Stop and Shop, Toyota, Bali Bras, Ghost Town (movie), Prilosec OTC, Verizon Wireless, Ethan Allen, AT&T, Werther Original Chocolates, Garnier Hair Products
Great post. I'll boycott with you, Diogenesis.

Take a good look in the mirror Charlie, you've been marked by the Devil.
Tell Charlie he just lost Obama five states. That’ll get his attention.
I wrote them all as I use most of these products. I got your typical ‘thanks for the feedback, but we don’t choose advertising based upon the political message of a program.’
I wrote back saying ‘that’s fine w/me but I expect you to remove your advertising from the show in the future since they’ve proven to be extremely biased and unfair. If not I will continue to refuse to purchase any product produced by your company.’
Thanks for the list though - I’ve sent it to many.

Gibson an alpha male?
Pshaw.
The RNC should send PeeWee Herman to kick his butt and take his woman...if any.
Bear in mind that an editing fiasco also took place. They edited out the best parts of the interview and even took answers to questions asked later in the interview and showed them as answers to ones asked before.
Thanks :)
It is always about them. How about a new slogan for the Ancient Greek Temple candidate who gives them goosebumps: “Joe Biden is a pig in lipstick”
Yup, it was especially painful to have such abrupt and clumsy edits shoved in one’s face just as Palin was getting to the meat of an answer, repeatedly, and to know full well that such an important interview(that would provide such crucial, early appraisal of our Veep candidate for so many millions of voters) was being handled and produced with such blatant disregard for form and fairness.
I didn’t realize the other thing you mentioned—that answers to later questions were inserted as answers to prior questions! Any way you can provide me a link to something on that?
