I'm still pretty shocked over Bolivar Peninsula. I was getting pissed off that there was a news blackout on it and that it was declared restricted airspace, and then they give us the Coast Guard video of the tip of the peninsula, meanwhile the Galveston County Judge is declaring that 90% of the peninsula was destroyed.

I understand that the news blackout meant that the media had very little to report on as far as the peninsula, but watching Perry pretend like he didn't know who controlled the air space was pretty ridiculous (he's been Governor for several years, plus he was/is a licensed pilot, he knows exactly who controls the airspace).

I'm pretty concerned about some cousins who lived near there.

I can’t imagine why that one house remained when everything else was OBLITERATED.

I wonder how many people tried to ride out the storm in that area and if they’ll ever find the bodies.

Understand these areas were wiped out with Hurricane Carla. They rebuild those communites and it’ll be done again. Hopefully, when they go back and rebuild the structures they will remain standing after the next hurricane as many did on west end and San Leon. It’s not a matter IF it’s a matter of WHEN the next hurricane will hit. A person is foolish to ever think on the Texas coast they’ll not be hit by a hurricane. The old timers were never foolish enough to ever doubt hurricanes would hit them and lived accordingly.

That first picture has just GOT to be a Photoshop hoax. On the tiny chance that it’s not, the builder should get some sort of solid third party verification and feature it in a surefire competition-eliminating ad campaign.
