Many people can’t afford hotels and money for gas. I planned to spend about 400 in gas if Ike had headed south. My suggestion though is that Fema give voucher loans that people are expected to pay back. I would rather someone “charge” a tank of gas than try to ride out a storm because of lack of funds.
It’s all about priorities. If someone owns a cell phone and a computer yet doesn’t have enough cash to put gas in their vehicle and wants the taxpayers to pay for that, I have a problem with it.
