Which is it, a derailment or a collision? These are two different things. Calling it one thing and then parenthetically explaining as the other in the title is confusing.

Just checking in. I just got back home after the crash. I was on the train immediately after this one (the 113). I was going to take this train (the 111) in order to get home early to take my son to soccer practice, but took the next train instead. The conductor of this train is named Gary. He’s a real nice guy. The other conductors haven’t heard from him. At this time there is no way for me to find out which and how many of the people I ride with on that train are hurt or killed. Rescue is still continuing. Keep praying.

Simi Valley Hospital and Northridge Hospital are calling for blood donors. Anyone with in particular 0+ blood (universal donor).

As long as we have transportation, folks will die from time to time. At least with trains, there are almost always survivors.
We learn, we improve, and things get better.
But these things will always continue to happen. It is part of the human experience.
Just my observations after 60 years on this earth.

Just registered here, this is to simply post comments:
No krylon, no seatbelts, not that it would’ve mattered much to the first car. So sad. I’m dying to know how this happened. I always think it’s nuts not to have seatbelts in these trains AND children’s school buses. Penny wise and pound foolish.
My prayers to everyone involved.

Another great service provided by the State of California. These clowns are so busy stealing from the States Coffers (taxpayer) they ignore something of this magnitude could possibly happen. Heads should roll.
