Metro Link train in flames...dozens of ambulances en-route to the scene...
“Metrolink 111 meets the Leesdale Local”
(Could it be this is the “local” with which today’s collision occurred?)

Fox Channel 11 broadcasting live — horse veterinarian went into treat patients. Still calling for paramedics and equipment, still taking off people. And this is 2 1/2 hours since the crash. Severe trauma. Getting ready for press conference later.
I’ve been watching that. I saw a body being lowered. The camera panned away.
Head on collision at speed between Metrolink passenger and UP freight trains. Very bad.
At least 6 dead now. One picture showed about 40 ambulances lined up waiting for the wounded. Very, very bad.
Yeah, I noticed there is only one set of tracks thru there. It’s a big sweeping curve.
Appears to have been a head on collision initially.
Just saw them taking someone out of the train not much movement from the person :-(( Now just two more ... Prayers for all ...
Live streaming can be intense. One young lady from a nearby house raced over with towels and water. She then said she was trying to help a man with his brains coming out of his head and then she couldn’t continue talking, she just stopped. A nearby friend took her before she totally lost her composure. The reporter was speechless and said he needed a moment to compose himself.
Still taking passengers to helicopters.
I saw that picture earlier on the channel 11 feed.
Two hours and still rescuing people alive.
Just checking in. I just got back home after the crash. I was on the train immediately after this one (the 113). I was going to take this train (the 111) in order to get home early to take my son to soccer practice, but took the next train instead. The conductor of this train is named Gary. He’s a real nice guy. The other conductors haven’t heard from him. At this time there is no way for me to find out which and how many of the people I ride with on that train are hurt or killed. Rescue is still continuing. Keep praying.
So glad you’re safe, ZGuy.
Prayers ongoing for all.
Saw that — sure hope her loved ones did not.
Those were my thoughts as well.
Simi Valley Hospital and Northridge Hospital are calling for blood donors. Anyone with in particular 0+ blood (universal donor).
I am just now getting to look at the video feeds. From my knowledge of the number of passengers today (It was lighter than normal) and where they normally sit, I am expecting to hear that the final number of fatalities will be in the 15-25 range.
May God have Mercy! Is there any mention of Hazmat being on the scene?
