Ping to the cartoon linked at reply #319.
Is he walking along with his arms our for balance?
ugggh what is FNC thinking even having him on the air, after Katrina..
I’m concerned too. The storm is 100s of miles away and the surge is already flooding things. Surfside is underwater, Kemah looks to be heading that way, the marina level of water is the same as the street, the water is coming up from storm drains.
Sweet mercy.
I like KHOU coverage. They are saying frontage roads near the area are already starting to flood. Soon they wont be able to get out.
“They are having trouble evacuating people. Federal officials are concerned.”
The Feds told them to get out two days ago! The dem woman mayor did nothing until 5:00 pm yesterday! Sound familiar?
How do you tell when a democrat has screwed up? They start putting out ‘press releases’ to cover their butts! (eye roll)

Read the comments section. The people of Galveston know she is a screw up!
I’m not asking anyone to come rescue me. What is your point? Rescue does not necessarily mean save. If I cut my arm off and were bleeding to death, yeah, I might call for help. I would do that even if there weren’t a storm.
geraldo did say that one wave knocked him under the satellite truck.
Your public servants deserve better from you. And that's the last I'll say on the matter :)
You are right. For the water to be this far up with the storm that far out, it could be catastrophic at my favorite old haunts along the Blue Water Highway. Bridge Bait is probably gone. Unreal.
“Exactly what is Houston facing as far as storm surge?
How far above sea level is it?”
IAH 97 feet. That in Florida would be a mountain.
Gee! I would really hate to see Geraldo go in a storm named Ike!
OMG...just watched the Galveston flood simulation. Then watched it again. Speechless.
Deanne Sherman, a woman calling from Crystal Beach says she and her husband tried to evacuate but by the time she got her things together, the bridge leading to the mainland was already under water and there were rescues under way, so she feels trapped. Says she’s not scared and is in God’s hands.
He's trying
"A flood came and a man had to climb onto the roof of his house. As the waters rose a neighbor in a rowboat appeared, and told him to get in. "No," replied the man on the roof, "the Lord will save me."
Then a firefighter appeared in a speedboat. "Climb in!" shouted the firefighter. "No," replied the man on the roof, "The Lord will save me."
A helicopter appeared and the pilot shouted that he would lower a rope to the man on the roof. "No," replied the man on the roof, "the Lord will save me."
Eventually the man drowned and went to heaven, where he asked God why He hadn't helped him.
"I sent a neighbor, a firefighter, and helicopter," said God. "What more do you want?"

We just wanted to tell you thanks for maintaining this list & we are bunkered down on San Felipe @ Nantucket ready for everything!
geraldo did say that one wave knocked him under the satellite truck.
+++++
That was no wave, that was Bush :-)
great folks, put rescue squads in harm's way because you would not evacuate.
Ignorance pure ignorance of all those staying in Galveston........I just don’t understand it? I pray the woman on Fox changed her mind and got out of there.
IAH is way up north. Houston is considerably lower and crisscrossed with bayous. Should be interesting to see how they manage. I live next the massive Addicks Reservoir. We have a levee along Hwy 6 that is pretty durn high. Makes you wonder what the engineers thought was possible in a worst case scenario.
I’m not saying this to pile on you, but surely you realize the difference between bleeding to death last week and tomorrow is whether the rescue worker has to risk his own life in order to respond to a call?
