The only way to make it happen is for Biden to save face. Call me cynical but I see a "personal reason" on the horizon for Joe Biden. And what will they offer him to make it an attractive option?

Yep.  Look for Biden to mysteriously disappear from the campaign trail due to some fabricated medical reason within the next few weeks.

Fabricated medical reason: Male pattern baldness?

Except for his gaffe, is there any evidence that “something is brewing” or is this a lot of hooey?

He will claim he has Lyme Disease!
He is a doffuss!

But it will also show that Obama had to make one decision and he screwed it up!

If HRC (Her Royal Cankleness) becomes the VP nominee, it would certainly impact the race. And, if the Dem’s won, BHO would be “Dead Man Walking.”

As the saying goes, “Desperate times call for desperate measures.”

They will use Biden’s past aneurysm problems to justify his stepping down . Something is coming , not sure if it will be Hitlary , but something is brewing .

So Obama can’t make a decision and stick with it? Who knew? That looks Presidential. /sarc

If they do it in October, it’ll be too late. Beside, I don’t think if they switch to Hillary Obama will win. Not to mention Hillary might turn down the offer.

Inviting Hillary to the ticket would be a faustian deal for obama if there ever was one.

Does anyone have a state-by-state listing of the last days a name can be changed on the ballots? Here in Texas, that date has already passed, it was August 26th.

Yes, but the REAL surprise is that once that happens, McCain promises to step down after election and let Palin take the Presidency (or switch places now if that’s allowable by party rules), and then Palin-McCain takes the election by 49 states to 1.

I can't imagine this happening or even working if it did.

Whatever phony excuse Biden would use to drop out, the next Monday he'd be back in the Senate chairing whatever committee he runs with people asking him "Hey, aren't you supposed to have bone cancer or something?

Oh yes, let’s wait to hear that Joe has a bad heart, or the asthma he suddenly developed to get out of the Vietnam War, has returned. Or will it be his hair plugs are infected.
Maybe his drinking problem.
But, soon it will be bye bye Joe.

I said a couple of weeks ago this would happen but I am changing course. Biden will have to stay because Hillary is going to dig Obama out of this mess. She is more than happy to watch him go down and take the nomination in 2012.AWB

Dropping Biden now is risky. Dropping him right before the election will be even riskier. He will be the ‘change’ candidate but for the wrong reasons.
Personally, I hope he keeps Biden.

Dream scenario:

1... O'bama approaches Hillary with the VP offer.
2... Hillary quietly says yes.
3... O'bama announces Biden's medical departure.
4... Hillary publicly says "No, thanks, I'll wait for 2012".
5... O'bama is left in the lurch.
6... Lurch says "No thanks. Been there, done that."

I don’t think Senator Obama would do it. The reason is simple: it makes him look very foolish for choosing Senator Biden to be his running mate in the first place, and also reeks of desperation, too.
