Sound not synchronized on Palin Gibson interview?

Posted on 09/11/2008 3:35:40 PM PDT by KayEyeDoubleDee

Is it just my local cable tv company, or is the ABC sound not synchronized with the lip movements?

If this is national, it's really unforgivable.

VP Dan Quayle was treated worst of all.

"Whereas Palin was practically interregated."

More like the Spanish Inquisition... but it was charlie’s head that ended up on the pike... both of them!

Ok. What's the Bush Doctrine? As defined by whom? Can you cite the date and the speech where President Bush first articulated and named this policy?

Rip Van Winkle, is that you? Where have you been the past 7 years?

I call it out every time I see it.
Admiring someone because they are lovely is not sexist. Defending someone against smear merchants is not sexist.

Accusing all men of being sexist because they don’t agree with your assessment of the interview is an ignorant liberal tactic and not befitting this venue.

Gibson was obnoxious—this was not an interview, more like an inquisition. Only conservatives are subjected to that line of questioning.

“It’s one of the reasons why I post so infrequently.”

Now you may be a Yellow Rose of Texas... but you ain’t no wall flower. ;-) No, that was not meant sexist in any way. Whether I agree with you or not... you speak your mind.

Wow, if I wasn’t in awe of this woman before I certainly and totally am so now. I am convinced that a whole lot of women are really really inspired and excited and their votes will reflect so in November. She is absolutely PERFECT for the job.

Charlie Gibson was a disgrace and the backlash tomorrow from strong women like myself is going to echo for days, weeks even. He literally clawed into the arm of the chair he was so on the attack and it was a disgrace to watch him try and belittle a woman like this.

Hey, dems or repubs, women all over this country should be appalled after watching this interview. It was totally sexist and made me and every other woman in my house watching totally sick. But we love our Sarah Palin even more now, YOU DID GREAT GIRL!!!!! I admire her so much and I know a lot of other strong women do too. Awesome.

" With all her positive traits, Palin still needs to study more. Let her go to camp for couple days. Politics is a game of expectation. Today, expectation for Palin has been lowered and it's good for her going to the debate. "

It just counters the DEMS tactic of trying to lower the expectation of Biden before he has to face Sarah before the debates.... now the Obama team will be forced to make changes in their approach.

I think that any one of a dozen scenarios are possible and probable... especially if barry gets in... someone will make a move before the ink is dry on his signature.

I fear a terror attack... but we are under one now... financially... and that is bin laden's DOCTRINE. al qaeda will move on us in the field of energy, because that is where we are weakest at this time. We had better be ready... or the left will not like it when we seize mexican oil fields and any other supplies we deem in our National Interest.

Americans will not sit by and watch our Nation defeated and 9/11 proved that the pols will do whatever it takes when we are pissed and wanting blood... even osamabama and kennedy. Only true American leaders stay the course and do what is right... and what is right is to make America energy independent and the Strongest nation on Earth for the 21st Century. Anything less is Treason.

Interesting comparison of the Reagan policy verses Bush Policy. Both very similar in design.

Perhaps a comparative study of bombing Libya (Terrorism) verses Aghanistan (harboring/promoting terrorism) vs Clinton’s straying from a first strike capability to being attacked first and then responding.

Iraq and Iran, for better or worse, will be classified under the same framework. A terrorist state possessing WMDs or nuclear capabilities.

Clever repartee (sort of), but you haven't answered the question.

I wouldn't consider Iraq under the same framework as Iran, unless you mean Baathist Iraq. I would also argue that Bush 41's position began to move towards what became the Clinton Doctrine, where we began by taking immediate action against Panama and Grenada, and later obviously waited for Saddam to invade Kuwait before beginning to marshal forces (even letting the ambassador comment "we don't care about Arab disputes," in so many words). Now, certainly there are differences (availabilities of bases, etc.) but I believe that was the start of leaning back on our heels.

However, whereas Reagan's policies were primarily focused on meeting the Soviets where they went (via direct action and support of democratic governments/guerrillas), the Bush Doctrine focuses on eliminating threats before they mature. IMHO, that is a departure from previous doctrines.

Okay. But remember where this all started - I said Sarah Palin was asked about Natl Security. She responded with energy talking points, agreeing with your points. However, Gibson then asked her what else, since there are threats to our country beyond energy - she didn't move an inch and continued to discuss energy. THAT, IMHO, was not the right move. I agree with you and her, we need to work towards energy independence - my view is primarily via biodiesel from algae, tidal generation in the Northeast and Northwest, and nuclear power. However, as we work on that, we must remain vigilant against further attacks on our soil. Had she said that, she would've had high marks from me.

I understand what you are saying... and his holds validity... but I think she made bigger points handling it the way that she did and she more than answered her National Security philosophy when answering the Pakistan question... and her answers were Iron Clad.
