Parents have been voting to allow creation BACK in schools as it used to be taught for years and every time, someone files a lawsuit faster than you can say ACLU.

You know who usually files those lawsuits, don't you? Parents. Parents who often, as in Dover, turn right around and vote out the school board who snuck creation in. But I guess parents' wishes only count when they wish for the same thing you do.

The other thing is, this is a representative republic.

Yes, with provisions for the protection of the rights of minorities.

Using the judiciary to force them to capitulate to the demands of a small elitist group is inexcusable and smacks of communism and socialism.

Reeeeally? Communist societies are characterized by minorities taking their grievances to the court system for protection against the tyranny of the majority? Do tell.

Yes, with provisions for the protection of the rights of minorities.

I don't have a problem with teaching evolution IN ADDITION to creation.

What we have here instead, is a case where the rights and wishes of ONE minority transcend the rights and wishes of the majority and any other minority; where the rights of ONE minority are granted to the exclusion of the rights and wishes of any other group.

If the rights and wishes of the minority were to be protected and represented, then evolution would be taught in the schools IN ADDITION to creation, not instead of it and the rights and wishes of ALL the minorities would be represented as well as evolution. A representative republic doesn't mean that one minority should be given preferential treatment over all others.

Besides, if the minority evo only group of parents wants only evolution taught in their schools, they are free to start their own evolution only schools where no mention of God is allowed; or to homeschool.

It's the same option that they throw up to Christians and creationists. If it's good enough for Christians and creationists, then it's a good enough option for the evo only crowd.

It's a free country, they're allowed to do that and then they can have the kind of education they want their kids to have in their own private schools, while the majority can have the kind they want in THEIR public schools. Nobody is forcing the evolution only people to send their kids to the public schools.

Filing lawsuits to force their own viewpoint on others at the others expense is unconscionable. It's a waste of taxpayer money, hurting already cash strapped schools. They're being totally irresponsible with the use of the schools time, money, and resources just to force their point of view on others.

Only a liberal could approve of the heavy hand of the government in the form of thought control and that is NOT a representative republic. That's communism.

BS!

Micheal Newdow was indeed a parent, but his daughter had no problem with ‘Under God’ in the pledge...he’s a slimy godless liberal lawyer angry at God, and THAT is his agenda.

The Georgia ACLU threatened our school board to remove the word Christmas from the school calendar, NO parents were made aware of these godless liberals hijacking the law.

Yes, with provisions for the protection of the rights of minorities.

>>>>>>But NOT at the exclusion of everyone else.

Communist societies are characterized by minorities taking their grievances to the court system for protection against the tyranny of the majority? Do tell.

>>>>>Tell us how Christmas in a school’s calendar is tyranny?

Tell us how offering an alternative THEORY for debate is tyranny.

And they’re NOT “taking their grievances to the court system”, they’re HIJACKING it.
