John and Sarah are making the rounds.
Good for them!
However a minor irritation still exists. That is, because out of fear of Obama, probably the great majority of FR (including founder) now support this team--and yet we still cannot get clear discussions on Borders/Immigration/Amnesty out of Team McCain/Palin) though we know exactly what "Yes We Can" Obama/Biden will do).
After thinking about what will and will not work, I have two plans for those who are very worried about our country over Illegal Immigration (some 90% here on FR and 80% of our countrymen) yet want to convey this to the McCain/Palin team and also engage in the Great Communicator's brilliant maxim Trust, but Verify
Hmmm....
Let’s see.
Should we stir up the immigration issue right now or try to keep Barry and Crazy Joe from winning the election?
If we do it right now it won’t change McCain’s position a bit (whatever his current position might be)
and...
It would get feelings running high and would probably help get Obama into the White House.
I noticed that some of Obama’s surrogates have started to talk up the immigration issue and I suspect they know it can work for them and against McCain.
I am against McCain’s Shamnesty plan but Obama in the White House for the next eight years would be much, much worse than McCain. And those are the only two choices we have.
Let’s concentrate on getting McCain and Palin in office first. then we can jump on McCain the minute he starts his crazy talk about immigration.
How about a simple sign:
AMERICA and AMERICANS FIRST
There’s a much simpler way to do things, something I’ve been pushing for over a year both here and elsewhere. And, without luck. In fact, I even offered to pay people to do it.
All you have to do is go to a McCain or BHO appearance and ask them a real question. Get it on video, and then upload it to Youtube and promote it.
Here are a few questions and things to discuss:

And, here’s an example of someone trying to ask McCain a question:

Unfortunately, I’m coming to the conclusion that FReepers just like to talk about reducing illegal immigration but when it comes time to do something there’s a game on or something.
Here’s a GOOD idea:
Get them elected before you petition them for redress of grievances.
TRUST BUT VERIFY.
And of course my own professional skills developed of: Never Put Off To Tomorrow What You Can Do Today
I have anecdotal evidence to support these positions in the context of case studies where I supported a President or Senator, only to think "we will sort it out after the election" and it never got sorted out and I got screwed by that GOP officeholder.
To do this once or twice is understandable. To fall for it again, would be idiocy on my part. I have grown, lets say.
If you have a position on either, why or why not would you do it? It has nothing to do with losing elections.
Ooo, that's even better. You'll make a great addition to FR as well.
GMTA
Welcome aboard.
You can see there is an identical case to 2008 McCain/Palin silence on Immigration/"let us deal with it after the election", as we got with 2004 Bush/Cheney silence on Immigration/"let us deal with it after the election."
Either you do not care about the borders, or you do not take lessons very easily.
Do you have any idea you are going down the same path? Maybe you dont mind going down that path, so if you are for open borders or Amnesty, then I cannot argue the point with you.
Just curious...Do you live in Japan? Do you vote in the US elections?
You go ahead first. I would like to hear something personal about you. Particularly, your position on illegal immigration? Have you been involved? Thanks for writing.
There are no stupid questions, just inquisitive idiots.
There are many American citizens living abroad that do and have the absolute right to vote. Why would you be questioning this?
I care about borders as much as anyone but it is foolish to think we will be able to influence McCain or Obama on the issue right now.
A Hunter write in isn’t a viable option. A Tancredo write in isn’t a viable option -
We have two choices - Try to keep Barry O out of office or sit back and let him get elected.
correct, yes, lots of Americans votes overseas, there are millions overseas. i do wonder what the point was in that question.
Nobody said write in Hunter.
Nobody said vote for Tancredo.
What was suggested was a) signs at rallies (there have been these but were taken down on McCain camp orders), and secondly, speaking to Sarah and John through our local representatives who are very concerned about the cost of illegal immigration in their communities.
If you have problems or issues with these two ideas, would you please state them, i.e. your objections?
I'm in the Inland Empire area of California. I'm less than 100 miles from the border.
I vote in all US elections.
Particularly, your position on illegal immigration?
I voted for proposition 187.
Have you been involved?
For many years.
I didn’t. You sound silly even suggesting I did.
Hey stoopid, lets help them get elected first!
Oops! Got the wrong thread opened!
Thanks for your concern.
