Some of us (especially me) owe Hussein an apology for attacking him on his ‘lipstick/pig’comment.
As someone who was slamming Hussein for his use of the ugly potitics of personal destruction, Chicago-style, I have now reconsidered my comments of yesterday--after hearing Hussein’s indignant explanation this morning.
Hussein’s use of the ‘gutter politics’ of personal attacks yesterday can be explained two ways:
(1) The first possibility, and the one that many of us reacted to--was that Hussein was stooping to a new, ugly personal attack, lowering himself to an unimaginably low-level--by comparing Gov. Palin to a pig. Initially, I was sure this was the case.
(2) The second explanation, however, is the one that Hussein used this morning. His comments made it clear that there was no malice intended (other than the normal vicious, personal attacks the democrats have been using on Republicans for years)—and it was just 'a coincidence' or 'accident' that the joke could apply to Gov. Palin.
Now, I have heard the ‘lipstick on a pig’ joke, many times in my life too. It’s a very old joke, and I think it’s even been used by John McCain, Dick Cheney and many others. But the use of that joke was well before Gov. Palin made her comments (made only in the last couple weeks) tying her hockey mom status to lipstick.
Given the incredibly unbelievable public press and relentless comments in the MSM focusing on Gov. Palin’s lipstick comments—it is inconceivable that her lipstick comment could not have been heard by anyone not living in a phone booth (although I bet even someone in a phone booth has heard it). Her lipstick, 'schtick' (no pun intended), therefore, was known by everyone.
GIVEN THE FACT THAT GOV. PALIN IS NOW SO CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH THE TERM ‘LIPSTICK’—and given her humorous tying of lipstick to hockey moms and pitbulls—and her use of it as a visual prop in her political satire—the term ‘lipstick’ in now inextricably associated with Gov. Palin.
Although Hussein's indignant denial, just DOES NOT PASS THE 'SNIFF TEST'—I am willing to defer to him--and accept his explanation this morning.
In his explanation this morning, Hussein asks us to believe that he was not aware of a possible tie between lipstick and Gov. Palin, and asks us to believe that he is--
TOTALLY CLUELESS,
COMPLETELY OUT-OF-TOUCH,
UNIMAGINABLY NAÏVE,
INCREDIBLY INSENSITIVE,
AND STUPID BEYOND ANYONE’S WILDEST DREAMS (to borrow a recent phrase of his, if I may) instead.
I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, and accept that explanation.
Anybody think OBama’s people do not look at the DNC web blog ?

I read your entire posting. Problem was there're only two ways to take BO's comment, either he meant it (making him a nasty little sprite) or he didn't (making him a club-footed dumb bunny).
What I'm trying to say is your post was too reasonable at take on the situation to be recognized as satire. At least by me.

Yes, Obama knew what he was doing. He thought he was being witty and sly at the same time. Just like when he gave the “finger” to Hillary during the debates. Obama thinks he is smarter than the rest of us.
Every woman I spoke to at work today was absolutely furious over Obama’s comments. (and several of these are democrats) They all said they knew exactly what he meant.
So regardless of how he may have intended his comments. Regardless of how much the MSM tries to cover for him. Most American women (and men) are offended.
So the fact that he is trying to look righteous, he is loosing more and more votes every day.
His far left wing supporters at DU/KOS are loving his comments. They think he has “put a missle in the heart of Palin” with his lipstick comment. When in fact, Obama has mis-fired and put a missle into his own campaign.
Regardless of what he meant.... do you think he gained any undecided or independent voters with his comments? NO WAY.
The MAIN thing that this shows is Obama is totally unprepared to be president. It shows he is thin skinned, and likes to retaliate without thinking. How scary would it be if he were president. It wouldn’t take long for our enemies to get under his skin. Then who knows what he would do.
I now believe Obama will be lucky to get over 45-46% of the vote in November. The “vote for any democrat” block is right around 44-45%. That is pretty much all he will get.
This was a deliberate shot at her. The pause in the middle was the dead giveaway.

Anyone who thinks that this had no Sarah Palin connection is insane.

There in No Question Obama meant to call Mrs. Palin a pig with his “Lipstick on a Pig” comment. And right after that, he called McCain a “Rotten old fish.” This is filthy, unacceptable speech, and what we should have expected from the Dims.
Hussein's 'in-your-face' indignant response this morning,,,was just another example of his incredible arrogance (especially after his explanation that he was TOO STUPID to have made that comment in malice).
He can take HIS bottomless-pit of 'phony MANUFACTURED OUTAGE' and indignation to his far-left, clueless democratic friends.

I too, am prepared to accept that Obama’s comments are PUUUUURE coincidence coming less than a week after Palin’s “lipstick” joke. It’s just not possible that his comments had anything to do with her identifying herself as a pitbull with lipstick just a few days earlier. He was going to use that joke of his anyway and Sarah’s lipstick joke had nothing to do with Obama’s “pig with lipstick” joke. Heck, even the people in his audience were caught completely by surprise and had no idea at all that Obama’s innocent joke might have been referring to Sarah. Let me re-iterate, the “pig with lipstick” attack had nothing to do with Sarah’s comments just 5 days earlier. It’s strains all logic that Obama would stoop to such a low blow. After all, how could the second coming of the Messiah, resort to gutter politics? You people just don’t understand how innocently his “pig with lipstick” comment was. Shame on all of you.
His voting block thinks he called her a pig and they agree. I heard it over some hip hop channel while I was changing stations. Now the comment came from a woman and the men were trying to talk over her saying it was just a mistake. Either way he needs to say he would never refer to an opponent as a pig.
I think this will be an interesting way to determine who reads the entire article before posting. ;O)

No coincidence. She hit him with the community organizer comment and it knocked the breath out of him. He went after her in a catty way a woman goes after another woman.
He used her lipstick and added the rotting fish joke (her barracuda nick name) in a catty female way. So as to be able to say “What me? How dare you accuse me. Look at them! Look at them their picking on poor little innocent me again. Those big bad LOL Republicans.
Most women have come up against these catty B’s and that’s what obama fights like.

Note that “the finger” came out the day after he blew the debate in Philadelphia. The “Lipstick/Pig” came out the day after he fell behind in the polls.
When the going gets tough, Obama reveals his inner vicious little prick.
BHO is adept at taunting. He ever so briefly mimicked John McCain’s stiff arms, at a Pa. rally. As he gets more desperate, his taunts will become more obvious.
