The Barack Obama campaign accused their Republican opponents of a "pathetic attempt to play the gender card" tonight with the McCain campaign's demand that Obama apologize for a remark made earlier in the evening.
Obama used a "lipstick on a pig" metaphor this evening as he tried to tell voters why they shouldn't believe John McCain and Sarah Palin when they say they represent change.
"Enough is enough," Obama senior adviser Anita Dunn said in a statement e-mailed to reporters
"The Mc Cain campaign's attack tonight is a pathetic attempt to play the gender card about the use of a common analogy - the same analogy that Senator McCain himself used about Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's health care plan just last year," she continued. "This phony lecture on gender sensitivity is the height of cynicism and lays bare the increasingly dishonorable campaign John McCain has chosen to run."

The wheels are coming completely off the Obama campaign. If he doesn’t do something to right his ship, Barack will go the way of the S.S. Dukakis.
He acts like this toward a female opponent during a campaign. I can only imagine what this guy would do if he had some power.
How naive do you think most of us are. He threw this out as a direct insult to Palin. It is the timing to her pitbull-lipstick that counts. What do you take us for dumb? Better look at yourself.
Obama called the Governor of Alaska a pig. That is wildly un-presidential. Now, in a manner we’ve come to expect from the thuggery that is the Obama campaign, his staff says John McCain is “dishonorable”. Whether you agree with him or not, anyone with any decency has to admit that John McCain is one of the most honorable leaders in our country.
What a loser
Obamadon of Ramadan is Bombadoning again. What an idiot. The DNC is placing the race card with him
Wrong. In the context of her self-definition as "pit bull with lipstick" the line plays very differently.
This is when things get the most dangerous. We can’t assume any victory much less a Dukakis scenario.
There is a difference. You’re wrong on this.
McCain said Hillarys healthcare plan was like putting lipstick on a pig. He was talking about the HEALTHCARE PLAN..NOT Hillary.
Obama was slying calling Palin a pig, and the audience knew it!!!!
Watch their reaction as soon as he mentioned lipstick on a pig.
And a girl pig at that right you a hole.Keep talking your ego will do the rest.
No way the woman are furious an odumbo looks like a buffoon again.
Thanks for your opinion Bob.
So very clever, so disingenuous........ugh!
The problem Obama has right now is that he’s lost all his momentum and is not being himself anymore. He is being blasted by the loony left because he isn’t being degrating enough, isn’t being nasty enough and isn’t being insulting enough towards soon to be Vice-President Palin. So because of this pressure to behave like a typical Democratic Underground poster, he has gone out of his element and is off message.
Obama will lose this election not because he didn’t try hard enough but he tried too hard to please the most extremist elements of his party which is a very ugly sight for the average American to see. And the problem on top of that is that aside from the media and the DU types, no one else seems to be listening. In fact he’s scaring them off the reservation with all the lunacy.
He can dish it out, but he can't take it. What a race-baiting pansy!
Could be, but more significantly, that is one of the skirts that Bambi is hiding behind!
I think he is worse than Clinton..
Pot, Kettle, Black? Oh, wait am I allowed to say black?
