Put this in a different situation. You're sitting at your favorite neighborhood watering hole, enjoying a couple of cold beers when in walks this overconfident jackass (just a regular jackass, without the protection of his gang or the SS). He's got an attitude before he even sits on a bar stool. You think to yourself, "please don't let him sit by me". But, guess where he sits - yep - right next to you.
And he decides to strike up a conversation. In his conversation, which is quite dry and boring in general, he starts making comments about the barmaid. She's not your girlfriend, but she's a great person and a good friend of yours. Anyway, you try to tell him this, but he carries on, getting more caustic as the night goes on (and as the drinks go down). Finally, he stoops to the level of calling her a pig, and claiming that she stinks like a dead fish.
Is that not grounds, in that situation, for a general butt-whupping? What good friend would not rise up to such an idiot and put him in his place using whatever force necessary?
Barry is hoping for such a response from McCain - and he won't get it. McCain knows that he's being called out, but he knows better than to do it. Sarah, on the other hand, can respond in kind and probably will. She won't go head-on, but will use an angled approach that will pit Obambi's own words against himself. She won't be the agressor, but will be the informer.
They're giving Barry some rope, and he's fashioning it to his own disadvantage.
