"I don’t think there have been many polls of the troops, but their donations are 6-to-1 in favor of Obama. And I think that’s because the Bush-McCain view of the military is treat them great when they’re over there and then forget about them when they come home. … And I think honestly, the Republicans don’t understand how to run the Army. They have to support the Army when they’re at home, not just when they’re abroad."

Yah, the campaign stuff being unauthorized on the network makes the polling a little tedious, but I can’t tell you how rewarding it is when you finish interviewing all of military housing and not finding a single household that supports the Obamanation. I have several friends that went SF and are now stationed in the Sandbox. We all keep in touch with each other and I can speak for all of them when I say no one I know personally supports Obama in anyway.
Dean fell off the turnip truck a long time ago. He seems to be getting repeatedly run over by it ever since.
Dean may well be the most confused person in politics when it comes to the US military. Does this guy have handlers? Somebody should tell him that walking through a mine field at night with clown shoes on is dangerous.
Obviously, we are about to have to institute the draft. Unable to keep up with retention quotas during an unpopular war most senior members of the military are just hoping for an Obama victory because every soldier knows he is fighting for a mistake and that his friends have died for a lie. Our military understands better than anyone that Bush was just trying to avenge his father, sieze oil for his friends and take away peoples liberty. This is just another Republican Vietnam and the American people are fully against it.

It was a poll based on “admitted” military officers who made donations and who they donated to....it was very sketchy and at the time had that “phony soldier” feel to it....

Must be Iranian or Libyan troops, since both countries leaders have endorsed Obama.

Howard Dean has lost his mind. How many people were in that poll? My husband retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years. Both of us support President Bush and are now supporting the McCain/Palin ticket. We loved Ms. Palin’s speech last week. We are going today to get our McCain/Palin bumper stickers and yard signs. The military community is patriotic. I don’t believe the liberals are. Just look at all those American flags they discarded after their convention. They were used to make us think they were patriotic. The military can see through this charade. Obama is a dangerous man.
