MSNBC TAKES INCENDIARY HOSTS FROM ANCHOR SEAT... DEVELOPING...
Drudge ^

MSNBC tried a bold experiment this year by putting two politically incendiary hosts, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews, in the anchor chair to lead the cable news channels coverage of the election.
That experiment appears to be over.
After months of accusations of political bias and simmering animosity between MSNBC and its parent network NBC, the channel decided over the weekend that the NBC News correspondent and MSNBC host David Gregory would anchor news coverage of the coming debates and election night. Mr. Olbermann and Mr. Matthews will remain as analysts during the coverage.
The change which comes in the home stretch of the long election cycle is a direct result of tensions associated with the channels perceived shift to the political left.
The most disappointing shift is to see the partisan attitude move from prime time into whats supposed to be straight news programming, said Davidson Goldin, formerly the editorial director of MSNBC and a co-founder of the reputation management firm DolceGoldin.

They say MSNBC caved in to the right wing. Their suspicions could be justified in some cases except in this one we're not watching. Unlike them we don't complain about something we know little about. MSNBC realized that although news for moonbats fills a small niche market, it doesn't do much for the bottom line.

Got it, thanks. Good stuff. Probably wrong to laugh at other people’s misery, but they make it too easy.

Could be sponsors. Could also be the CEO of NBC getting a loud, long, robust booing after being introduced at half time...

Some staff members said the tension led to the networks decision to keep Mr. Olbermann in New York for the Republican convention, after he ran the desk in Denver during the Democratic convention. MSNBC said that he stayed in New York to anchor coverage of Hurricane Gustav. But some workers say there were other reasons namely, that Mr. Olbermann was concerned about his safety in St. Paul, given the loud crowds at MSNBCs set in Denver.
Democrats as usual fear the majority of America. Olberman as a representative of the left, is terrified of conservatives.
NBC in fear of bias bleed? HA! The stockholders should be buying stomach upset medicine.

It’s about time. I couldn’t understand how they could put Olbermann forth as the primary face of its election coverage.

They should have shared the same booth, they fit each other very well.

These events should put CNN’s Campbell Brown and Jeffrey Toobin on notice. They are almost as bad as MSNBC.

“With McCain taking the lead and a victory possible, the last thing MSNBC would want would be to be shut out of a McCain/Palin administration”
I agree with this comment. MSNBC and it’s parent NBC NEWS know full well they’re reporters and producers are in the tank for the messiah, and they also know that if McCain wins the election he and his administration will owe NBC NOTHING. No access, no interviews, no insight, no tips, no off the record comments, absolutely nothing. David Gregory, Kelly O’Donnell and Andrea Mitchell will have nothing to report except the basic WH press releases and news, nothing more.

..why did I just get this mental picture of people rushing to rearrange deck chairs with this big ol’ iceberg in the background?
LOL
Seriously, all this does is remove the last pretense of objectivity, since they all are now “commentators” and thus won’t even have to bother with little things like facts.
Result: Won’t really change anybody’s viewing habits for either NBC or MSNBC. They’re both still the Dim’s Propaganda Ministry.
